Sophomore Success - Week 4

Fresh27 October 17, 2011 0

Colt McCoy, QB, Cleveland Browns (85th Overall Pick)

The Browns had their chances against the Titans but could not capitalize plenty of opportunities on offense and on the back of a career high, 40 completed passes out of 61 and a 350 yard game from McCoy. The second year Quarterback hit 11 different targets in the game and the progression of this young team over the next season or so could get very interesting.

Eric Decker, WR, Denver Broncos (87th Overall Pick)

In a valiant effort against defending champs, the Green Bay Packers, Decker was able to step up to the plate and haul in 2 touchdowns to what has been a disappointing and injury riddled season so far for the Broncos passing attack. So far, Decker has been the highlight of the 2010 Broncos draft class and has emerged as a solid performer after his quiet rookie year.

Ryan Mathews, RB, San Diego Chargers (12th Overall Pick)

Mathews is finally stepping up to the plate and is delivering what everyone expected of him when he came into the NFL. A solid runner and a great option on passing downs as he finished the game with 81 rushing yards off 16 carries and 68 receiving yards to assure the win against the Dolphins.

LeGarrette Blount, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Undrafted)

In a tough game against the Colts, Blount stepped up when needed in the 4th quarter to give his team the lead on a 35 yard touchdown run which eventually proved to be the winning score for the Bucs. Blount ran hard all day and finished with 127 yards with a 5.1 average. No doubt a lot of teams are regretting passing on him on draft day despite his controversial college days.

Jimmy Graham, TE, New Orleans Saints (95th Overall Pick)

In week 3, Graham had his first 100 yard game and looked like a sure breakout player so far. In week 4 against the Jaguars, Graham had his best game to date and showed off great skill and athleticism making 10 catches for 132 yards with a touchdown in the Saints win. With Graham stepping up in the attack, Brees is sure to have a great season and the Saints for years to come will have an amazing passing attack.

Notable Players - Dez Bryant (WR, Cowboys), Jermaine Gresham (TE, Bengals), Victor Cruz (WR, Giants), Preston Parkers (WR, Buccaneers)
