You guys ever wonder why...

...when British people sing (and I mean sing-sing, not just say some words to music, or rap in some instances) their voices sound the same as more Western English? I'm not gonna say American or Canadian because even those vary, but it seems like British singers have their accents glossed-over once they start singing, as if "our" English is the "right" way to speak and sing.

I know there's a few exceptions to this, like Dizzee Rascal and The Arctic Monkeys that I can name off the top of my head, but others like The Beatles and Leona Lewis all seem to follow the above logic.

I'd love to hear your guys' thoughts on this.
