Because this was his year to score on the big bucks aka get drafted in the top5. I can understand why someone would call him disrespectful and other stuff but this was a pure business decision plus Rubio has the intention of coming, just a year later. What's disrespectful is what Fran Vasquez did when he made the Magic believe they had their next big man project ready and he never came over.
Plus how is it disrespectful when the Wolves obviously knew about it hence why they drafted Flynn with the very next pick?
