Thumbs up How to find and dl "hidden" video links (mms, rtsp, Yahoo music videos and MSN videos - 03-08-2007, 07:45 AM

Have you ever tried to dl a link like this one http://mfile.akamai.com/24715/wmv/ml..._damon_400.wmv with Flashget or Net Transport (1.87 version is available as freeware here) and only got a playlist file in return? That might be because the link is a mms stream which neither Flashget or Net Transport can download unless it has the actual mms link. Here is how to get it.

1. Dl and install sdp downloader from here: http://sdp.ppona.com/ (It's freeware)

2. Click open and copy and paste the link into the box, but change .wmv to .asx like this

http://mfile.akamai.com/24715/wmv/ml..._damon_400.asx

3. Click yes and save.

4. The url at the bottom should be an mms link. You can save it with sdp downloader by clicking Go and save. (which is easier) Or you can copy the mms link to Flashget or Net Transport and save it there.

For those of who have links that look like this

http://www.mlb.com/media/player/mp_t...e=v_free&_mp=1

The above instructions won't work, but since the word mms is already in the link you simply take the mms link

mms%3A//a1503.v108692.c10869.g.vm.akamaistream.net/7/1503/10869/v0001/mlb.download.akamai.com/10869/2006/open/tp/archive10/100606_nyadet_jeter_def_tp_350.wmv

and change the %3A to :

mms://a1503.v108692.c10869.g.vm.akamaistream.net/7/1503/10869/v0001/mlb.download.akamai.com/10869/2006/open/tp/archive10/100606_nyadet_jeter_def_tp_350.wmv

Click open, paste the link, click ok, go and save and it will dl the file. You can also use this link in Flashget or Net Transport.

I hope this helps you guys. :Thud: I posted this because I know I'm not the only member who has been frustrated by this problem. If you ran into this before and were unable to dl a clip you wanted because of it, I suggest you retry the same clip with these instructions and it should work. I heard NBA League Pass Broadband games are available thru mms links. If that is true, this method might work to dl those games.

EDIT: I have also discovered a freeware tool called Url snooper v2.18.01 Beta (previous version might be infected) that sniffs out the urls of otherwise hidden links. This should help you guys who ask how to dl something because you can't find a media link (like on yahoo music videos and msn video. I haven't tried it yet, but this Url Snooper should work for just about any "hidden" link you need. This opens up a lot of opportunities for dling clips (via Net Transport, SDP Downloader and Flashget) that you otherwise couldn''t until now.

THANKS dejan006 FOR INSPIRING THIS THREAD IDEA.

Have you even tried it yet? It does work, if people are willing to try. It worked for me and some other members on the forum.

I am not saying it will dl everything, just to clarify. But it works to find mms links, which some files are streamed through.

I found a way to dl these vids too! (after a ton of effort though :Thud: ) Thanks for the question Brock or I would have never even thought about this. :) You need to have IE or Netcaptor (simulates IE and is a good alternative) and have Url snooper v2.18.01 Beta (previous version might be infected) installed first to do this.

For Yahoo Music Videos (Sorry the video quality is bad)

1.Open Url Snooper and put it into advanced mode

2.Play video of your choice

3.Right click the link next to Windows Media mms stream and Copy Selected URL(S) to Clipboard. Link should look something like this: mms://209.73.189.139/p09r20/154/__S__/LAUvswm9/10/33669144.wmv?StreamID=33669144&pl_auth=a72434c3b68 5e469bbe1a4426b5ca8bd&ht=3630&xdata=MzU3MTc0MjMyND VmMDliZj-33669144-373344138&so=%2FMUSIC&b=04rjc4h2upnks45f09bf9&s=39 6500312

4. Paste the link into Flashget (this also works in Sdp Downloader and Net Transport) and it will download.

For MSN videos

1.Open Url Snooper and put it into advanced mode

2. Put into advanced mode

3. Open http://video.msn.com and links will load quickly. Remember you only want to find the mms and rtsp links. Play the desired video and the mms or rtsp link should load after it begins. Right click the desired link and Copy Selected URL(S) to Clipboard. (Don't copy a link that is repeated, they are all the same) They should look something like this.

mms://a1174.v26630f.c26630.g.vm.akamaistream.net/7/1174/26630/579/od-video.msn.com/208/mbr/fof_nicole_kidman_MSN_1.wmv

or rtspt://msnbc.wmod.llnwd.net/a275/e1/video/100/dtl_wildbill_homes_070307.asf (IMPORTANT: change rtspt to rtsp before trying to dl, or it won't work)

4. Mms links can be dled with the Flashget, Net Transport and Sdp Downloader. Rtsp links cannot be dled with sdp downloader.

Hope this helps :Thud: :Thud: :Thud:

Lightbulb How to get undownable songs from Myspace.com - 03-09-2007, 02:13 AM

This is simple and maybe a lot of people around here know how to do it. Well it isn't for you (so don't complain that it is easy and you already know how), but for those who aren't in the know... (I believe it will really help newbies)

How to get songs off of Myspace.com that aren't available for dl

The Myspace mp3 songs load into your temp internet files folder. (You need IE or Netcaptor for this, also try to keep the storage space limited to 80 mb)

1. Open IE or Netcaptor, go to Tools, Internet Options and Delete files. Then click ok when it finishes.

2. Go to the Myspace.com page and play the songs you want.

3. Go to Tools, Internet Options, Settings, View files. (If you see nothing, then close the folder and try refreshing the page or going to another unrelated website and then reopening the folder.)

4. The temp internet files folder will open up. Drag the header that says Type to the beginning, right click, arrange icons by and type. The icons should be in alphabetical order and much easier to sort thru. The mp3's should be grouped together. If you see more than one, then ctrl+click to select them, that way you can select them all at the same time.

5. Paste the files into another folder. The files will sometimes have strange names (ie this song: std_b7a0d7d1253ff30e6b554230712cbf00[1]), but you can normally tell which file is which by the clicking it and looking at the length. (in this case it was 3:36 matching the length on myspace)You can rename them also for convenience.

This method works for any media, (ie mp3, wmv, avi, flv(can you say Youtube?),etc.) pics, docs, etc. that loads, rather streams it's contents to your computer. Let me know if you have any problems and I will be glad to help if I can. :)

THANKS TO Hustle N'd Heart FOR INSPIRING THIS SIMPLE TUTORIAL. :Big Smile
