If you were homeless... -

If you were homeless, totally broke, and had no friends or family, do you think you could recover to lead a 'normal' life? If so, how?
Keep in mind that it'd be hard to get a job or social security benefits given that you have no place to live, and hence no residential address.

actually some homeless people commit petty crimes to go to jail on purpose so they have a roof over their head, food, water and free medication.

^it does sound like a good idea though, i would probably do that if i was homeless and had no family/friends
a crime that wouldnt hurt anyone but enough to get me out of the cold and some food

I'd start asking for money to the people on the street, get some nice clothe with it, take a shower and start prostituting myself. maybe i find some nice rich girl who wanna take me with her

I guess trying to look for a serious answer is difficult on M2.
So I would get some money through begging and like tactanaman said, try to buy some good clothes after a while. Then start working at a McDonalds or something to try and raise some more money. Then start renting a house and the lot. After that I would buy some more serious clothes and try going on interviews for more serious jobs (not anything extreme just some place on a company or something to get me going).
It would've been more difficult actually doing it than just talking about it but I honestly think one can get away from the streets if they really make it the purpose of their existence.

This is actually a big issue here in San Francisco. I mean if you go down to the Tenderloin, and there are tons of homeless people. Honestly though, i've talked to a lot, and many love it here in SF. Lots actually migrated here from other cities just to get here because it is a little easier to get food.
The problem is there are different types of homeless people. Some suffer from serious herione and alcohol addiction, which makes it impossible to ever move up in the world. Then some just ran into bad luck, but manage to make something of themselves. A good pan handler told me before he can make around 60-75 bucks a day, playing instruments, working small jobs for private owned businesses. One homeless man I talked to for a bit was a veteran, he couples his SSI with his panhandling and actually has a small apartment.
But honestly, I couldn't imagine how their lives are. It's cold, wet, hungry, and suffering. There is no one here on M2 that could possibly imagine how bad it actually is to be homeless.
