Death. - 05-19-2008, 04:58 PM

Please keep this thread serious.

So, about a week ago, I lost my best friend, a 16 years old girl, in a car accident. She was really beautiful (I won't post pictures because I feel It's wrong.) and possibly the most incredible person that I have ever met. She was cute, smart (really smart, not a nerd though), very out going and pretty funny. We actually date couple years back, but things didn't workout I don't know why. Maybe because we were very good friends. We kept the friendship though...

The thing is: I'm feeling really down. I know this girl since I'm 7 (I'm 16, about to make 17, so almost 10 years) and losing someone so close made me think about life and death. I know it might sound a bit cliche, but it's the truth.

We always say to the sad person when someone die, that the dead person went to a better place and all these kinds of crap. But it's really different when this happens with you.

I want to know what you guys think about death, have you ever thought about it, have you ever lost someone special for you and what you guys think about that "went to a better place" thing.

Im so sorry, stay strong. I can relate my uncle (my hero) died he was in his early twentys, he was the person that really started me on the road to basketball and I don't know where i would be without him. When they say there gone to a better place, its true, whether it be reincarnation or heaven, just stay strong, remember if you cry your only hurting them, they don't want to see you be sad, they want you to be happy, and remember all the memories you had together.

Sorry for your loss, mate.

I hope to go out the rock n roll way; from an overdose. Jim Morrsion died in a bath in Paris at 27 (I think) which is ****ing ace.

Keith Moon went out pretty well too. He died of an overdose on the drugs that were meant to help get him off alcohol

Yeah, I get how you feel. Like, even if they are in the "better place" you still don't want them gone from earth. Saying, 'Oh, shes in heaven...' doesn't help you feel to much better. Like, shes still dead. Ya know?

What I do is jump stop worrying to much about it. I know a lot of you guys aren't Christians and I don't know if you are personally but I always just lay it down at the foot of the cross. I exchange all those bad feelings for some rest.
Being your on god doesn't work well for me. When you have someone to turn to and kay that bad stuff down helps. And you can't do that when you're your own god.

Hope that helps a little.
Take Care

Sorry, but I don't think there is any special place. When you die, you die. You don't have a never ending dream, you don't go to heaven, you just decompose.

sorry for your loss. before this year ive never went to a funeral but this year a teammate of mine who was 19 died at work after a forklift incident and also my coaches dad who was the trainer for a few years also passed away while at a park while we were playing golf with our coach. sure these people werent as close to me as family but they still meant something to me.

however i feel like i dont really fear death since its the inevitable and the hardest part would be relizing that you wont see that person ever again. maybe im just a souless person or something but everyone has their time to live and die

Well, I refuse to believe we are just gonna die and thats that. You know? I don't think we are a sic-com though. Or a game. I view it like kindergarten... Or better yet, high school. If we pass, we'll spend eternity in heaven. :) If we fail, we spend eternity in hell. :( Thats where all that free will stuff comes into play.

But thats just my belief system.

Sorry to hear about your friend. RIP.

I think about death all the time, I always think to myself about what the afterlife is and if there actually even is one, and all the rest of it. I lost someone close to me a few months back, and I've never been the same. I lived with him for the first 3 years of my life, and he was the second closest thing I had to a father. It was very tough at the funeral etc etc and I will never get over it, you won't either. It's just the way it is. You will learn to cope better with it, but never will you get over it, so remember that.

"Went to a better place" and "They are watching you" lines I really do not beleive at all. How can the person themselves know if that's what actually happens? Nobody knows what happens when you die, all we know is that it will happen to us sometime in our lives, hopefully later than sooner.
