ok so i had my other dell for a while now, and i changed the resolution to 1280x1024 and when i did that my monitor bugged out and showed a red message saying something about the dimensions... and its just black now. The green power light doesnt come on the monitor any more. However, the computer still turns on. Just the monitor is black and safemode isnt working either..... thoughts??

not much u can do without seeing output so try these steps in teh following order.
1. check connections
2. try a different monitor, see if that works
3. try a different video card, see if that works

pretty much if both monitors dont work, ull need a video card. if a different video card doesnt work, ull need a new monitor.

check the cabels. if everything's nicely connected and undamaged and this is still happening...have the monitor checked. take it to their service center and they'll diagnose the problem if there is some...same happened to me a year or two ago...

the monitor works fine with other comps, i just changed the resolution on the computer and cant change it back cuz i cant see ne thing.
