Do you show respect for them as much as you should?

Now I know I'm not perfect but I never ever ever yell at my parents. I do what they say, I mean they brought me into this world. No matter how unfair they might treat queries. That's just how I am, I have the most respect in the world for them.

I honestly can't remember the last time I yelled at them.

I live with my mom, and I think we have a mutual respect for one another. I see a lot of kids who get yelled and just verbally abused by their parents and it's just "Yes sir/ma'am" or "No sir/ma'am" because they have to be respectful. It's not like that with my mom. If she asks me to do something, I do it, and she doesn't have to yell at me or anything to get me to do it. We can just talk about things without arguing at all.

I do yell at my parents, but i dont cuss at em or nothing. They just tell me to do ridiculous things whenever im busy which just makes me mad.

I have a lot of respect for my mom, she works 40+ hrs/week to provide for my family.
My dad is sick but he does some of the work in and around the house so I have respect for him too.

But I do yell at them sometimes when they are being unreasonable, but I never curse at them.

Well my Dad works as a waiter at a deli in Austin abt. 2 hrs away and my Mom works about 3 hrs away in the other direction. See, I'm so terrible that I don't even know what my Mom does now. Sure, both my parents are constantly switching jobs but I still feel guilty about not knowing that. I never have had the best relationship with my parents, but I always will respect them for never even thinking about abortion when they were young, unmarried and created me.

They might of brought you into this world, but one thing I always live by is my view on one of the ten commandments (I am not religious) - Honor your father and your mother.

Now, this basically means to have obedience and respect for authority. Truth is, obedience and respect should not be automatic, they should be earned, and they should be based on the parents performance. Some parents deserve respect, and some don't, regardless of whether they bought you into this world or not.

As for showing respect for them, I respect my mother immensely, considering what she has done for me and our family, and the sacrifices she's made for us. Quite different story for my Father though, I haven't spoken to him since March and don't tend to again anytime soon.

I show my mom respect and I don't think I ever yell at her, even when she's wrong. My mom's an alchoholic and she sometimes f*cks up, her judgement becomes cloudy, her mood swings make her disrespect me when its not needed and even though it makes my blood boil, I just try to stay calm(then burst out in anger when she's not around lol).I swear sometimes I feel like I'm the parent, and til this day my mom has never apologized to me when she's blatantly done something wrong, and til this day she's never been able to swallow her pride and realize she's said/done sometihng wrong and talk back to me like an adult after her little tantrums. Parents just don't understand I guess

It also frustrates me when I go to my friends house and pretty much all of them fight with their parents(when I'm there too) and act real disrespectful and then I get home and get penalized for doing the opposite

I live with my dad, him and I are pretty much best friends. We watch sports together and go to movies. He also never scolds or yells at me, but I can tell when he is disappointed in me, like when I get a bad report card. I think feeling like I'm letting him down is more effective than him screaming at me.
