---Quote---
No one in their wildest dreams thought Allen Iverson could have transformed the Knicks into a championship-caliber team, but fans were dealt another disappointing blow Friday afternoon when the struggling franchise passed on the free agent and former MVP.

"What do the Knicks have, two wins?" said Jose Valentine, 24, of Manhattan. "Iverson can win more games than that by himself. He has the heart to play, he loves the game."

"It's a bad move," added Tim Coffey, 25, of Brooklyn. "They could have at least put people in the seats."

Marv Albert, the veteran NBA announcer for TNT, was a guest on the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" show. The musical star was rapper 50 Cent. As Albert arrived, with an entourage of one, TNT public relations specialist Jeff Pomeroy, there was a sudden scuffle when a multitude of 50 Cent protectors seemed unfamiliar with Albert. There was shouting ("It's Marv Albert," yelled a Kimmel show guard, a pronouncement that seemed to have no effect on the 50 Cent phalanx.) There were obscenities. A fist or two flying. A "Don't you put your hands on me" pronouncement.

With all the talk (Things being relative of course, because nobody ever talks about books) of Bill Simmons, Brons and Magic/Larry's book the one nobody has commented on is still sitting on the shelves at your local B&N.

The Art of a Beautiful Game: The Thinking Fans tour of the NBA, by Chris Ballard (Sports Illustrated)

Heres a tidbit on the inside info you'll get:
*the Secrets of Battier are unleashed by Ballard. The way in which Battier defends by neither blocking nor stealing the ball. The level to which Battier knows what his opponents will do before they do it. How he uses his hands in proximity to the opponent's face in order to freak them out. How he felt about Ron Artest. What he thinks of Tracy McGrady. (For the proper T-Mac critic, there is a load of material in this chapter. One particularly bemusing line, in a discussion of how Artest would switch himself onto Battier's man in a fit of confidence: "It's better than Tracy McGrady. I'd be on one side of the court and he'd be pointing, 'Pick him up! Pick him up!' So I'd have to run all the way across the court to guard a guy like Kobe. It's gone from one extreme to another.")*

---Quote---
*Perhaps the best factor in Ballard's favor, especially in comparison with the other notable basketball books currently in prominent position at Barnes & Noble and Borders, is that he's a major character without being the focus. Not to disparage the wonderful Simmons, but Ballard has not written something that is part autobiography, part basketball book.*

I live about an hour away from Toronto so I'm gonna take the train to downtown Toronto at 4:45 and I'll get there around 5:38. The train'll take me straight to the ACC and then Ima watch the players warmup and scream their names till someone looks at me (Y).

Saw this on TNT after the Bulls-Lakers game.

There were 6 choices.

Allen Iverson's 48 points in game 1 of the 2001 NBA Finals

Shaquille O'Neal's 28 points, 20 rebounds, 9 assists and 8 blocks in game 2 of the 2001 NBA Finals

Tim Duncan's 21 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists and 8 blocks in game 6 of the 2003 NBA Finals

Kevin Garnett's 32 points, 21 rebounds, 5 blocks, 4 steals in game 7 of the 2004 WCSF

Dwyane Wade's 42 points, 13 rebounds in game 3 of the 2006 NBA Finals

LeBron James' 48 points in game 5 of the 2007 ECF

Wanted to include vids of each performance, but I'm only aware of vids for 3 of the 6. Meant to include a poll, but I guess I fuked up somehow.

Here's a link where you can vote and see 30 sec clips of each performance on NBA.com:
