NBA 2K7 (PS2) Review by takeover1

I was trying to wait out until i got a 360 but im still totally uncertain on when that may be, so I decided to buy it for the PS2 and was fortunate enough to get the last copy!

At first when I played this game immediately I noticed that the game looked pretty much exactly the same as last years, which I heard mentioned in reviews. Although after playing a few game I noticed that there we some nice touchups on players faces (tmac,VC etc.) and i saw the courts as better looking for some reason.

The graphics are at the max as to how good it can go on the old ass PS2 so im giving the graphics a 4/5(looks much better than any other sports title on the market for PS2).

If you played the past version (2K6) the animations/controls will seem strange. This actually pissed me off at first because I couldnt do what I wanted to do. Later on when I got the hang of things I liked it much more, even more than 2K6! The new animations include passing, dribble moves and even signature shots from about 25-30 NBA players. The animations are great, very fluid and gives you more of an agile feel from 2K6(talking about PS2, 2K6 animations look much better in any version ha). So over time(1 day:ROFL I really began to enjoy all these things.

This game is now much more fun to play against the computer because they have this thing called momentum where players actually bite on your moves if you pull the right fake or penetrate. Which means when you suck in the D on a drive you will be able to kick it out to the arc for your player who will have a wide open jumper and the defense wouldnt be able to get back. In last years the D would recover so fast it became a pain in the ass, with this its so much more fun.

the big sellng point is ONLINE which is SICK!!!!!I just love this game online, so many close games and clutch situations i have gone through. The game is less of a dunkfest now since its harder to dunk in traffic this year. the games online run almost all lag free. you have the:

-quick game option
-lobbies(advanced,advanced2,beginner,street)
-leagues
-tournaments

league play is great, u can even do fantasy drafts just like last year but this time the dont have that glitch where the game freezes when u change lineups in the subs menu. much better job of coding online play this year. you can even play opponents VIP profile, which is basically how they play with there tendencies and everything which is great if you really wanna beat someone(hint hint to KillaKMS aka my 2k BITTTTCH!)

overall i love this game:Bow: and its really hard to get me to love something on ps2 these days cause of 360.

but since ive seen the NEXTGEN versions it lowers the score definately hahaa

8/10(woulda been 9. something on a PS2 rating scale)

On 2K7, when they dunk and hang do they hang on the net like 2K6 :lol:. What sort of dunks are there ? Are there any new ones ?

all the dunks are the same but the core animations are all new.

core, as in main, animations. thats like, dribbling, shifting, shooting(for star players they have sig shots) and passing.

Ohh ok cool then, do they move easier ? Like sometimes doing a crossover wud take sum time, and they didnt change direction that quickly ..

You bought it for PS Wack 2. Get if for XBOX 360 and rock that **** on a HDTV, the best GAME EVER MADE PERIOD.

PS: Jamal J CLUTCH Crawford is nearly unstopable, I just wrecked Kobe with him, dropping 50 points in 5 minute quarters.

the crossover is the same speed the one from left to right, but they have new ones like while youre running you do a sharp turn behind the back and go straight forward unlike last year where it would just make you stop. also when you hit the aggressive once it does a random dribble animation with is cool, ive seen some sick ones with tmac and juan dixon and then the lesser skilled ballhandlers have a simpler animation. i cant think of all of it now but theres a lot other stuff than the normal crossover to shake your opponent on the move for 2k7.
