PS3 users: no rumble makes a huge difference? - 02-01-2007, 10:46 PM

yo, just wondering before i get my ps3 maybe this year after march. does no rumble make a difference when your'e playing games? would you be able to notice that its gone?

because Resistence is a FPS right.. so since the controll has no vibration wouldnt that change it up a bit? because alot of people still have current-gen consoles (myself included) are used to playing FPS/shoot'em up/action games with rumble..

I didn't even notice that PS3 had taken it off until someone told me. I play Resistance all the time, and the rumbles on the screen are enough to give you that rumble feeling.

Well if your asking whether or not your going to notice vibrations on your hand, Then that should be a pretty obvious answer. Does anyone know why the actually removed it? I read somewhere but ive forgotten. Hideo Kojima misses rumble.

Their excuse was they couldn't do it with the motion (Wii says otherwise)... so the real reason is that a company called Immersion sued them saying they infringed upon a patent... so Sony took out rumble. Microsoft was also sued... so they just bought a part of Immersion

no thats not what i meant.. but anyway they removed the vibration over a lawsuit or something from the company who makes the vibrations in controller pads. Didnt matter anyway because sony said rumble will interfere with the motion sensoring

Did it have anything to do with the blatent rip-off Sony made of the Nintendo rumble pack back in the 90's?

Yeah I didnt even notice it either..I dont really care about rumble honestly...I would rather have a controller that gives you more interaction with the game, but rumble wouldn't of hurt. Of course I dont see why they couldnt of put rumble in anyways, but it doesnt matter to me.

Word. When I was at the store and played motorstorm I came home and said" oh ****! I didn't even notice the rumble!" resistance is sick. you're so sucked into it to be worried about rumble. Those who say "WE WANT RUMBLE!!" on ps3 boards obviously don't have a ps3.
Rumble is just a small addon. Splitfish offered to give rumble making it an addon(like nintendo 64 with the rumble pack) connecting it to the usb, but they declined. I don't care about rumble only about the games. Why do I play on comp or even play my retro consoles? because the game is FUN.

They got sued by patent trolls- Immersion
