Would you guys say Gears is overrated?

I don't want to sound like an a$s, but I think it is. The technological aspects, especially graphics, are unbelievable. It's probably the best game out on any next gen console right now, but is it really worth a 9.5+? I'd give it a 9 flat. The game is short as hell, I clocked it in a day, and there wasn't really anything that made me want to pick it up and play again.

The cover and fire dynamics are cool, the in game action is pretty nice and attention to detail has obviously been paid. But the online aspect is kinda deadish, if you know what I mean.

If the game were longer or there was anything that would keep you playing longer, a 9.5 would be certain. I just don't think it was offering enough. And the framerate issues were a bit of a disappointment, but I guess they didn't have time to optimize enough before release. Your thoughts on the game? Don't get me wrong, it rocks, but 9.5 is ELITE talk.

Yea as good as the game is, it's a bit overated because in general is that it lacks depth in the game.
It needs longer 1 player mode, a bit more weapons, more online option as all 3 of the modes are like the same.

Yeah, it just needs more depth. More online modes, weapons, and a much longer campaign. It was amazing when it first came out, but it dies quick....so yes, I think it is a bit overrated, but it's still really good

Yeah i agree with most of what your saying, The single player campaign/story is still better then most found in the genre, But i still havent bothered to finish it and most of the time i play it i just sit back and marvel at the graphics anyway. For what it is though, its brilliant, Easily the best graphics weve ever seen released in a game. Sure there will be a few titles this year to out-do it, but right now its the technical benchmark.

ya very overrated not enough game modes but itss still a fun game i rent it once in a while.
