Alright guys I want some serious answers from the gamer heads of this board.I've been thinking lately that I maybe should buy a VG machine and I just wanted to ask you the eternal question:

360 or PS3?

I know that 360 is better now and that the PS3 will be the better machine in 2 years but what I'm concerned is this: does the 360 have many quality years left in it or will the PS3 just whoop his a$$ in a few years down the line?

I'm pretty sure the PS3 just whoop the 360's a$$ in a few years down the line. Theres alot of things to look forward to in the future of the PS3. Including games like MGS:4, new Gran Turismo, God of War, and other PS3 exclusives. Also PS3 home is something that looks awesome. Not to mention that PS3 will have much better graphics. I personally think that you should get a PS3.

The Ps3 will whoop 360's ass in the following years. I played both systems, owned the 360 at one point, and Ps3 is a better system. It mostly depends on you though, I say just try both systems. Don't listen to anybody on this forum, go to a local video game store and try both out.

I doubt the PS3 will "whoop the 360's ass" for one, the 360 is cheaper and two, right now there hasn't been a whole lot of difference between them graphically or quality wise..

Down the road, I think either would be a good choice.. It all depends on how much money you're willing to spend.. If you're willing to spend no less than $500, go with the PS3.. If you're willing to spend no less than $400, go with the 360.. All about the money IMO.

Me personally, I'm not willing to dish out that extra $100, and I am happy as hell with my 360.. It's awesome.

No way will it whoop the 360s ass, especially in the games department. For all we know, in 2 years the PS3 could have a game 4x better looking than GoW... but the 360 could have a game 5x better looking.

Are you interested in online play?

What type of games do you like?

^ Yeah I've also heard about the 360 being easier to develop games for than the PS3 and that developers have had a real hard time getting used to the PS3 platform.And of course the 360 will continue to have support for now but it's the future I'm worried about.I don't wanna have a Saturn Vs PS1 moment again where the Saturn got off to a better start but then after 2 years Sony totally conquered the whole VG field.
I'm sure such a blowout will not happen with the 360 but I just need some opinions.

As for games I like those would definitely be FPS and b-ball ones.And I'm thinking of starting getting more into the RPG scene.

As for online playing I really haven't thought about it but I'm pretty sure I'd like that option.

I think u should do your own research and come to your own conclusion to which one you want because asking M2 is pointless. All the fanboys will just say they're system...

And Imadogg where u been lately, you totally stopped playin GOW... We gotta get the old classic matches together with you, me, banana king, and tofu tiger and kick some ass...

the PS3, is better off , right now its had a slow start but it will catch on, the ps3 also has blueray, which will be the new format and replace Dvd, and currenlty theres nothing wrong with the Ps3, like the 360, all of them keep freezing and i dont no what the insurance/return policy is in Greece, so i thnk ur better of with a ps3

Me and banana played a lil over the weekend...

I haven't been playing a lot cuz I got worms now haha, and also, whenever I go on, I see none of you guys online playing... I hate playing GoW without you homies cuz that's like the best **** ever :lol:

Well both got NBA 2K and NBA Homecourt for bball... though I just checked the ratings and the 360 versions of both games are better rated overall, I'd say they're the same on both systems, it's a coin toss.

And FPS... cmon man. GoW right now, Halo 3 as soon as September. Bioshock in between.
PS3 has Resistance right now (still wanna play it), and they're hyping Killzone, we'll have to see how that works out (should be good... not a Halo-Killer though).

RPGs are great this generation for M$ too (a PS3 owner can tell you about their side). For RPGs we got of course Oblivion already out (on the PS3 too), Mass effect coming out holy **** I can't wait, rumors that we'll steal some former PS exclusives... and also Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey if you're into Japanese RPGs.

Oh yea if you can wait, you can see if the 360 has a price drop or if the new version comes out in May
