ye man 2K is the way to go, its more closely simulated to real basketball unlike Ea's. yes, run plays and stuff. EA run plays too, they like to run the iso alot.

Nope, never played 2K before, but for the last 2 years I've heard so many positive things about it. Every NBA fan seems to rate the 2K series over Live as well. Only reason I didn't buy 2K7 was because I've been a dedicated Live fan for as long as I can remember, and I was just praying for a mirricle hoping that 07 would actually be decent. That mirricle did not happen. So I'm thinking I'll go for 2K8, though I am praying for another mirricle in the Live series.
