On the laptop... runs it in high detail pretty well, but I've toned it down to medium for smoothness.
First of all, Vista is the single worst operating system ever. Second, I just played this **** for about 3 hours straight without a save (other than the 1 auto save) and it crashed lmao, I'm mad.
All up, played about 8-10 hours. Impressions...
Again a hyped up next-gen game I'm disappointed in. I see they're trying to intertwine a story line and a few new elements to a shooter, but honestly I expected a lot more. The Big Daddy/Little Sister with player interaction is extremely limited. I mean, c'mon... Shoot, kill, harvest/save... That's it? Where the hell is the innovation in that, that everybody was talking about?
The theme of the game is pretty cool, but it's not like it hasn't been done before almost to the point that it's being abused. You've got a Hitler of a society that you're infiltrating, a few mad c*nts here and there, and monsters. Granted, they implemented the idea of Adam into the game well.
But thus far, the game definately does NOT in any way whatsoever deserve the rating of 6th best game of all time. For me, it's a 8.9 - 9.3/10.
Delving into the story further... Like I said, I've been playing about 8-10 hours of gameplay so far (easy mode, so no deaths lol), and I'm kinda digging the story of the game (albeit, very cliche plot... but can't expect much more from a video game unless it's from Hideo Kojima. Seriously) but where the hell is the character interaction, and more importantly... character development?
The characters in this game are stagnant. The atmosphere is decent, but without the character development and interaction, all it does is suck the color from the game IMHO. Now I don't want this to sound totally negative, the game is good... I'm enjoying it and it's definately fresh, but after all of the nerd, geeky ass praise I've heard - I can't help but feel absolute criticism and disappointment while playing it.
Regardless, good game... but wow, once again another game that people had me psyched for that - at least so far - hasn't lived up to what everybody got me expecting.
Expecations suck.
If Crysis doesn't live up to my expectations, I'll throw my PC in the trash...
Edit...
Forgot to mention, this year's Half Life 2 will stomp this game for me, just due to the fact that the character interaction and development adds more atmosphere and feeling to the game. Not to mention, it's got a better combat system all together and is in some ways the platform to the story in which the Bioshock guys got their ideas from.
Before crybaby's go shouting fanboyism because the game isn't on PS3... Obviously that's BS, I have the game (bootlegged

) and my fanboy comments on here are for humor/sarcasm only.
Dets rating so far.......8.7/10
I'd assume it'll be about a 9.3 by the time I finish it.
PEACE YO
