Sooo does the PS3 have BC or not?

Does the PS3 have backwards compatibility or not. I mean, I've read that they scrapped it altogether, but I also read that you can download updates for the the BC.

All the old SKU's have it. The 20gig and 60gig versions both had it in hardware, and the 80gig version emulates it in software.

The new, stripped down 40gig SKU lacks it completely.

So, should I go with the 60 or 80 Gig, cuz I dont feel like dustin off my PS2 everytime I wanna play an oldie goldie.

I'd go with the 60 if you can find it, espcially if you still have a large ps2 library. I think that both the 60 and 80 gig versions are US$400.

I think that Sony F'd up aswell. If they'd just kept the 20gig version and dropped that to $300, it would've been a better deal than the new SKU.

My whole shyt is the BC. Once they get rumble back, and developers get used to the hardware, sky's the limit.

Not to mention that not one single Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, Devil May Cry, or Resident Evil game has come out for it.

Once it does, it's the takeover.

But what's the major difference between the 60 and the 80 versions?

Actually, come to think of it, go with the 80gig. It has to emulate for the ps2 games but I doubt there's really a difference. Plus, it probably has better bundles, like a motorstorm and Resistance pack.

I was seriously considering buying the 40gig one but the lack of BC really killed it for me. Pity.
