Some games connect users based on the region the game was produced for (All NA games play with each other, all EU games play amongst each other, etc.)

I believe most of the big games are world wide, while the more niche games are determined by region probably due to poorer netcode

Also buying an NA PS3 means you won't be able to play PAL PS1/2 games, watch DVDs that aren't Region 0/1, Watch Blu Rays that aren't region A.

ahh i see the version of your machine determines who you play against, sweet.

yeah i wasnt to keen on buying the ps3 from overseas, ill definitely buy an Aussie Version.
