GameDaily is bringing us news hot off the presses that BioWare has just announced the opening of a new studio within EA's Montreal studio. The new group will be comprised of 30 people and "about half the staff will be brought in from BioWare's Edmonton studio," the studio that worked on the original Mass Effect, BioWare co-founder and CEO Ray Muzyka told GameDaily. The game they're starting with, you ask? Why it's none other than the recently teased Mass Effect 2.

Now we just gotta hope the other half of people don't **** this up.

Mass Effect 2 coming to Xbox 360, PC in 'early 2010'. No talk about PS3 so far. They're staying silent about it, but they did say that ME2 will be 360 exclusive for a while at least.

^well if its published by EA it has to be multi-platiform. its under their contract.. along with other games that are going multi-plat like Dead Rising 2, Lost Planet 2, Ninja Gaiden (Sigma) 2 and BioShock 2.

EA's only publishing it, not developing it. It won't make any difference to the game

Damn the first one was sick as it is, I do hope they make a new Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic.

You've probably already made this inference after viewing the demise-filled teaser trailer (or last week's E3 sneak peek), but BioWare's second space opera installment, Mass Effect 2, is going to be a downer. Much like The Empire Strikes Back (the angsty middle child in the Star Wars trilogy), ME 2 will be the series' "dark act," according to producer Casey Hudson, who sees the game as "an opportunity to really explore the tougher, more brutal parts of the universe."

Hudson went on to describe the themes of the Mass Effect trilogy's story arc, explaining, "In the first act you put a guy in the tree, in the second act you throw rocks at him, and in the third act you get him down." And how do you get the guy out of the tree? [Unfunny slow elevator joke that I have omitted - adypS]

Well I really wanna play this game. I feel like Cartman waiting for the Wii.

I don't even get time to enjoy games anymore . I'll have like three games of 2k9 a week. I've had Killzone 2 for a month and I'm 5% through it

I actually just started playing games again like 2 weeks ago. Haven't had time but I got no hw at all these days so when I'm home I play COD4 online, or play a bit of Oblivion to **** around. I beat all my other single player games and I don't like replaying em, and I don't have 2K9 unfortunately ahhh.

But yea I can't wait for ME2... the first was one of my fave games ever

Damn, Mass Effect was one of the best games I've played so I can't wait for the second part of it... man I think it will be great too. The story, chance to choose a dialogue etc. is a great thing, which makes this game really fantastic and interesting.

After that game - I started to love all games about space etc.
