It's an auction...you know people start it at $0.99 then a lot of buyers bid on it and the price raises which is currently $30.00. At the end it'll sky rocket to almost equal the price or sometimes more. For popular stuff like that it will almost impossible to get a good deal. For buyers eBay is best suited for rarer stuff.

Whilst it's true that people start items at 0.99 cents to avoid listing fees, on an item like this I would e-mail this guy and request a photo of the actual X-Box 360 with perhaps an up to date paper or even a sheet of paper that says your eBay ID. As a seller, (and I've done this before) I'd be more than willing to, since I'm looking to get a good price. It's better than getting ripped off.

If he was a scam artist, he wouldn't have 98.7% feedback. That's what feedback is for. He's sold 2 360s with 60 gig HDD's in the last 2 days, one for 162 and one for 145. Both have positive feedback.

@ Toksik, It's not hard to get a good deal at all for popular stuff. In fact, it's the exact opposite. Supply and demand brother. More supply means less demand which leads to lower prices because of competition. Anything I've ever bought from ebay has been well below the MSRP.
