Need for Speed: World Online - 06-29-2009, 06:32 PM

Well I just found about this game just then after checking out Battlefield Heroes.

Looks interesting. Free to Play Racing MMO.

Quote:
Need for Speed: World Online is one of the next installments in the long-running racing video game franchise Need for Speed published by Electronic Arts, this iteration being co-developed by EA Black Box and EA Singapore. World Online is a free-to-play MMORG , or massively multiplayer online racing game, the second MMORG in the Need for Speed series after Motor City Online. EA marketing manager Keith Munro states that "this Play for Free action racing game will give Need for Speed fans the most licensed cars, parts and game modes ever in Need for Speed's history".. There is now an official trailer, which confirms Pagani Zonda, Lamborghini, Porsche, Lexus and the return of the police. The promo image is a Nissan 350Z racing in the Chinatown of Palmont (the city of Need for Speed: Carbon) in mid-day.
I managed to find some images on the Chinese Website.

A Teaser trailer here

I haven't purchased a NFS game for about a decade. They're a hire/rent at best.

Yeah mabye
Carbon was kinda what I expected with less in it
NFSU2 was the first NFS with free roam and had half a story and crazy customization with SUVs as well
The best customization I've seen in a street racing game
but yeah Canyon drifting was awesome
I wanna see some garage customization like Auto Modelista that game was crazy

IMO Need for Speed has gone downhill since NFSMW. They just continue to make more games and they seem to get worst and worst

I do agree, but the new lot of Need for Speed game are being developed by different studios, and I think EA realise their past few efforts have been pretty ****e.

I am keen to give this a whirl once released, heck its free...

It is part of EA's Free to Play range...I just downloaded Battlefield Heroes...For Free.

Having said that I'm assuming its PC only...

They make revenue on in game advertisements and probably using the option to buy exclusive extras
