Question About Xbox 360 Elite - 10-04-2009, 02:34 AM

I can get an Elite with Halo ODST for $400 here and seeing as my console is from 2007 and is loud and only has 20GB I just wanted to ask the people that have the elite some questions:

- Is the 360 quieter than the Premium or Arcade Xbox?

- Can I transfer my stuff from my current harddrive (Maps, add-ons) to the 120GB HDD?

The answer to two is I think yes because you just put the elite hard-drive on you're old 360 and you can and than put it on your elite.
I have been wrong before though.

1. I don't know from personal experience cuz I'm not on the newest model, but I heard the newer ones are quieter... can't confirm and don't know by how much.

2. If you get the elite (I remember this from when it came out and I'm pretty sure it's still the same) you can get a cable from M$ but calling em or going online. You give your serial numbers of the xboxes or something to prove you have em, and they send you a cable for free to transfer your stuff. You can only transfer your ish one time from the 20 to 120 (only can transfer to a bigger HDD I believe).

1. No. It's the exact same as the other two inside. There is absolutely no difference unless your system is an older one with older hardware.

2. Yeah you have to buy a transfer kit.

3. Buy a PS3, your 360 will just RROD anyway.

4. If you really wanna be pimp, do what I did. Buy a used HDD (assuming Austrailia has EB games like we do) and then switch out the insides with your 20 gig. So now the insides of your 20 gig have the 120GB case on it, and the 120GB HDD is inside your 20 gig case.

5. Spray paint your 360. Believe me you can make it look really professional. If you want I'll go into more details on exactly what spray paints to use.

1. He has an 07, they're upgraded since then to make it quieter I believe.

2. I thought it was free (like Caleb said) but I'm not gonna check.
Plus he lives in Australia so I have no idea how it'll work out

Well than no matter what type of 360 he buys it's going to be quieter. Elite or otherwise.

As for the kit, it was free there for a while, but I'm pretty sure that's over.

Really? I've had mine since 2007. They wouldn't make them any quieter then the older ones? Sometimes I try to charge my controller overnight and its so friggin loud takes me like 20 minutes to get to sleep. Even when you take out a game and put in a DVD it makes a huge buzzing sort of sound.

I don't think they'll be that much. $20 if that. 3PointJ said his came with one so thats alright.

I would but I have 20+ games on the 360. If I had my time again I would buy a PS3. Most of my mates have PS3s plus there a better console overall.

Funnily enough when I bought 2K10 the guy said the same thing about spray painting your 360. What exactly does that do?

EDIT: Plus my Xbox is just screwed. Amount of times I've pushed/punched it and the amount times its scratched the discs. Plus the disc tray doesn't open when the disc isn't in there and I have actually pulled the disc tray out when trying to pull it open.
