Tschirner: The simple answer is with lots of blood, sweat and tears. We have a world-class motion capture studio at our disposal here and we made very good use of it with around 5000 or so individual animation assets being captured this year alone. Our talented staff of animators and engineers has been working feverishly all year long to fill NBA LIVE 07 with tons of brand new content - from our movement system to signature shots to Freestyle Superstars to dunks and lay-ups and just about everything else in-between.

That's for all you guys (well actually there's about 2 guys) that sit there and jock 2k because they said they're adding 100-150 dunk/layup animations. Now, I wonder how much hate this thread will get because this game ends in "Live 07," not "2k7."

Now if their gameplay didnt suck. I mean 06 sucked ass so bad, not even funny. I like 2K because its a sim, while Live is more of an arcade type game.

Nice post. Im not really into to the 2k, live rivalry thing lol I just want some info for the game i want to buy which is live. Sucks im getting a ps3 if anything so hopefully that will have all that as well..

It has nothing to do with if it end with Live or 2k7...
Maybe they do have 5000 new animations, and thats great! but just like takeover says, the animations are really crap.. I know you like Live, but you cant disagree with me, if you saw the vids from Live, that the animations are not that great...

you know what they say: quality is better than quantity. And the above posters already stated their opinion on the quality. Now about the quantity, the number 5000 says a good amount, but never states more than anything. What makes you think 2k don't have that amount?

And what is the relationship between 150 dunks and 5000 OVERALL animations? eh...

06 sucked because they overhauled the engine on next-gen which is why they left alot of stuff out where as 2k6 just put out a straight port from current gen. In the end, Live's overhauled engine will probably pay off. No knock on 2k because their game played well on current-gen, but if they look to completely redo their gameplay because it gets kinda old, then they'll end up a step behind.

Why can't I disagree with you? I have a mind and I can think for myself. In fact, I will disagree with you. You see, there's these things called opinions. I don't believe that there are any stupid opinions, because an opinion is not a fact. But I do believe there are stupid people that have opinions, and there happen to be a couple of them showing their ugly rears in this thread. Oh, yea, I saw the vids from 2k7 too, and the dunk/layup animations "are not that great..." either. :Sleeping:

So you and some of the above posters are gonna go into the 2k thread talking about 150 dunk/layup animations and 200 pass animations and go nuts about that? Okay then, the number 150 says a good amount, but never states more than anything.

And the relationship is left for you to guess. You don't think Live has 150 dunk/layup animations in those 5000 new ones they have? Maybe they just haven't thrown out the figure.

All this thread proves is one thing, you guys's bias to NBA 2k. If you look in the 2k thread about 150 dunks/layups, nobody has anything bad to say about that except for me, because I point it out that that is a ****ty point of view to have. But then I post this and like 1 or 2 people actually back Live while it's hijacked with 2k dimwads.

Well, in case you didn't notice, these are people too. These people have opinions. These people's opinions are not always correct. And IGN is infamous for giving biased or inaccurate reviews. Plus, I have no idea why they said something like that because I have never read in any preview of a game that the gameplay was horrible. And it's a sad thing that the guy said that because these people try to bring unbiased previews to everything, even if they review it and give it a 4.2 rating. Look at and1 streetball. In the previews, they never mentioned anything about bad gameplay. Then in the review they say it's horrible and doesn't really make any sense.
