nba 2k is overrated -
08-31-2006, 03:18 AM
I played every game from 2k and from life from super nintendo to pc , playstaition one,
dreamcast, ps 2, xbox and 360 (live on snes , pc ps 1, ps 2, xbox and 360) (2k on dreamcast, ps 2, xbox and 360)
The fact 2k is miles bevore the nba live games is just not objective (i don t know how to write this word in english)
Yes, nba live 06 on the 360 was really bad.
But 2k 6 is so overrated, yes it is a very good game but not as good everyone is writting in forums.
2k6 is far more arcadish than erverybody is saying.
If you play with a all star power forward you just have to pull the LT trigger and he makes this spin and after that you can dunk on everyone :Insane:
with this realistic move you easaly can put down 30 pts a game by shooting over 60%
very realistic?
In online games 60-70% of the pints are scored in the zone...
One other thing in my opinion is better in live than in 2k is the right stick.
Who needs that shot stick ? You also can make this with a button (yes the layups!)
i think in live you got more controll over your player in my opinion thats better.
I played both(2k7 and live 2007) on 27.08 at the Games Convention.
The 2k version was more ready, the live version abut 70%.
But 2k just played a little diffrent to 2k6 .
Live 07 played completley new (but they got to bring the game to 100%).
2k got the better moving players and live more controll.
I think both games got there strenght and weaknesses ( i will get both).
But please bring arguments next time.

and how many points are scored using superstar dunking? with power and highflyer. If you think thats more real then the pf dunking, you got something wrong in your mind. However i do think that live will have the better extra modes and dynasty mode. However that's not what i'm looking for in a game. I've played live 07, and not 2k7, but 2k6 and i think that live 07 is still very unfluent, all ball and rims are very weird, rim is far from real.

maybe if you stop playing on rookie level vs the CPU it might be diffrent. You can easily stop alot of moves in the game, if played right.
who needs the shot stick? why not, why not have full control over a layup or dunk with the stick, played like a great idea to me.
this is all opinons, theres always the live crowd and 2k crowd, i myself are a 2k fan. Im not a fan of dribbling up the court with Yao Ming and unleashing a 360 windmill on shaq. ((live))

You've got your Live fans and you've got your 2K fans.. Live fans like a more arcadish game, which is their opinion.. 2K fans want a sim bball game, with as many as those great little details you can fit in the game.. Then there are the people who get both, who like both types of games.. I am a 100% 2K fan now.. No more Live for me..
And like foul line said, put up the difficulty and it's harder.. You can also stop every move, and so can the CPU.. The shot stick was a great idea, I think.. I don't really use it for shots, but dunks and layups.. 'Cause sometimes in the lane you need to go right with your finger roll instead of left because that's the way that the big man isn't in your way.. A great addition, I think..
Play 2K7 when it comes out, and put up that difficulty level.. I personally think that you're opinion will change, but I can't know for sure because 2K7 isn't out yet..

I'll admit, when you master the controls, it really is a dunkfest. But that would be cheesing, I think is the word. If you want to play realistic, call plays. You have the option of not drive with Kobe all the time. And besides, it probably take sometime for you to master the controls.

everybodys know if you play against a human user, 90% of the time all they do is dunk.

Who needs a shot stick? Well, Live anounce that they will be having one too.....  Shotstick means more control over your shot.

Now, you can control the type of pass. Bounce, lob.....2k, that is.
Pass, dribble, and shots.....alre all within your control......what more do you?

dats whats wierd for me...i want a realistic game but ive played 2k and i hate it so much i gotta stick with live..and i love it. ive seen live 07 and 2k7 videos and there are a lot of times where both have arcadish **** in it...
but im jus tired of people braggin about the game they like more and saying how this one got **** gameplay but this one got this and that its like whoever is a 2k fan likes 2k and whoever is a live fan likes live....people trashin the other game that they dont like doesnt change the opinions of the fans of the other game..
thats y i think all this arguin about which one is better is stupid because its odvious everyone got they own opinions...
