I SPENT QUITE MUCH TIME on every game, capturing all of his baskets. Each file is between 250 & 350 megas & between 6 & 9 minute long.
33 of his 38pts in 2nd half vs Orlando. "The Magic touch". (1999)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=98A82RS1
The Lakers team from 1999 included Shaq, Kobe, Rice & Rodman. But in Shaq 1st game back at Orlando, L.A was unable to play well in the 1st half, trailing by 20pts. Then, here came Kobe! KB put on a show in the 2nd half, hitting his first seven shots. For the 1st time I guess, we watched how good Kobe really was. Carrying his team, he scored 33 of his 38pts in the 2nd half on 13/15 shooting! Back to these days, it was Kobe "1st career high". And of course, leading L.A to a great came back, Kobe definitely had the magic touch.
18pts in 4th & OT at Golden State. "The miracle". (1999)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/yldap9 (highlights of 4th & OT only).
In this one, Golden State lead by as many as 28. Shaq got ejected in the 2nd quarter, and Kobe & co still trailed by 20 entering the final 12 minutes. That's the moment Kobe chose to take over. He scored 16pts in the 4th including 2 amazing clutch plays in the final 6 seconds. And the last one was the famous "miracle", a tip at the buzzer to send it in OT, after a missed free throw by Rice. Kobe added another spectacular play in the extra period, bringing roars and chants of "Kobe" from the crowd. Even at a young age, Kobe played probably one of his best quarter, and he accomplished the fit in front of Jordan, seating just next to the court.
56pts vs Memphis. “The grizzlies hunting”. (2002)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/ltntze
The game before, L.A lost to one of the worst team Chicago and O’Neal got ejected. So no Shaq in this one, but Kobe didn’t need help, taking over from the very beginning. He put an absolute offensive clinic finishing with a career high 56pts in only 3 quarters on 21/34 shooting. This game was the 1st time we saw what Kobe was really capable to do offensively, nearly outscoring Memphis through 3 quarters: Memphis 59, Kobe 56.
21pts in historic 4th quarter vs Dallas. “Heart of a champion”. (2003)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/v61lnx
Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion. L.A had to think about when they faced a 27pt deficit vs the N°1 Mavs entering the final quarter, they know they had to turn into this expression. With only 6pts through 3 quarters, Kobe was more determined than anybody to show L.A has still it. KB was simply perfect in the 4th, scoring 21pts on 8/8 shooting, including the game winner with 8 sec remaining. Kobe lead his team to the 2nd greatest come back in NBA history, handing Dallas its 23 straight loss at Staples.
45pts vs Seattle including 12 threes. "Threemendous". (2003)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TLG1VX62
Making three pointers was not really Kobe's best weapon. The two 0/8 he did earlier in the season were not going to change that. But when he made 6 straight threes in the 2nd quarter vs the Sonics, we knew nothing will never be the same. Especially when he connected on 6 more, making 2 NBA records (9 straight threes and 12 overall).
46pts at New York. "Showdown at MSG". (2003)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WBIZ6IU0
This is the 1st of Kobe's 9 straight games with at least 40pts. In the most famous arena, Kobe put on a show with 40pts in 3 quarters. After watching his team blowing a 34pt lead from the bench, Kobe returned to the action late in the 4th to seal the victory. Kobe was really unstoppable in the 3rd quarter, making 9 of 13 shots while dazzling the MSG crowd. And he made that sick baseline reverse jam over Sprewell in this game too.
55pts vs Washington. « Bye MJ, Hello Kobe ». (2003)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/9ewhhl
Jordan was on his farewell tour, playing for the last time in L.A. And again, there was an historic performance. But it was Kobe who made history that night, torching the Wizards with an amazing 42pts in the 1st half, including 8threes. Fouls trouble and defensive adjustments by Washington “ruined” the 2nd half, but though KB finished the game with a season high 55pts.
42pts vs San Antonio. “The Colorado game”. (2004)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/mo6py4
After spending a second straight day in a Colorado courtroom, Kobe flew back to L.A and arrived at STAPLES Center 2 1/2 hours before tip-off. That’s set the tone, the rest is legend. Kobe lead the way with a remarkable 42pt performance, helping his team even the series. Kobe made one tough shot after another, playing with endless energy, especially in the second half when he connected on 10 of his first 13 shots.
After the game, O’Neal said: "
I don't see how he does it. He's a fabulous player, probably the best player that ever played the game. Especially with all the stuff he's been going through."
33pts in game 2 heroics from 2004 finals. "The shot". (2004)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H4ZR6S0I
Like Jordan, Kobe has the ability to make big shots. And he made some big ones in this 2004 season, especially when he drilled 2 incredible threes in Portland to help his team clinching the pacific title. But Kobe's biggest shot may happened in this dramatic game vs Detroit, which shocked L.A in the 1st game with an unlikely victory.
Like he did in the previous rounds, Kobe made a variety of tough shots all night long. But with L.A facing a 3pt deficit with 11sec to play & a potential 2-0 before coming to Detroit, someone had to step up. And once again, Kobe rised to the occasion, drilling a long three pointer over Hamilton. A shot that Kobe will later describe as "the biggest shot he ever hit".
48pts vs Toronto. "Ripping the Raptors - the beginning". (2005)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NTRH4A0M
Of course, Kobe most famous game vs Toronto is last year rampage when he erupted for 81pts. But one year before that, Kobe gave the Raptors a little preview of January 22.
Keeping on his mind the last loss, a wild meeting with Shaq at Staples, Kobe was agressive early, making a lot of and1 plays. Some great moves & 5 threes later, Kobe finished with 48pts, his highest scoring game of the 2005 season.
50pts at Clippers. “Two-Face”. (2006)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/f3mtw4
Kobe has the capacity to make the last shot even if he missed his last 10, or scoring 30pts in the 4th after being scoreless in the 1st three. So here comes Mr Two-Face in this city rivalry. After a 10pt 1st half on 2 of 12 shooting, Kobe lead his team to a wild win, scoring 40pts after the break with 6 threes. Oh yeah, he made the game winner too.
29pts + facial over Nash vs Phoenix. "Here's your MVP" (2006)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=I82F7FW6
Game 2 was built from the beginning as the matchup between the top two leading MVP candidates. And Kobe didn't disappoint. This is the game where he began changing his approach of the game, passing the ball more, being patient with his young teammates, while having a better shot selection. While several sources cited Nash as MVP before the game, Kobe showed everbody who was the best choice. He showed his leadership when he exchanged some words with Nash, he trusted his teammates more than he ever did, and everytime Phoenix tried to come closer, KB hit big shots to avoid the upset.
And to definitely put everybody on the same page, Mamba just soared over Nash for a facial he'll never forget.
50pts vs Phoenix. “The heartbreaker”. (2006)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A23GU0DM
In one of the toughest losses for any Lakers fans, Kobe did all he could to help his team advance to 2nd round. He came really close after hitting one clutch shot after another. Kobe scored 50pts including a franchise record 12 in OT, but it wasn’t enough that night. Remember, we were just 6 sec from an historic upset…
52pts vs Utah. "The perfect storm". (2007)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=00SEO43F
Kobe connected on 11 straight field goals at one point, on his way to one of his best offensives performances ever. Simply perfect in an historic 3rd quarter, the storm collapsed on the Jazz, recording 30pts on 9/9 shooting & 10/10 from the free throw line. Kobe finished the night with 52pts in three quarters, making 19 of 26 shots.
65pts vs Portland. "History on the way" (2007)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7O4U18QF
After 7 straight losses, Kobe decided to stop the bleeding at Staples. From the 1st possession to the very end, he didn't stop making shot. Even from mid-court while being fouled, KB made incredible shots. He was beyond clutch, scoring 23pts in the 4th to force overtime, and added 9 more in the extra-period. The historic scoring spree is on the way.
