I'm not sure if this is common knowledge or not, but it's newly figured out by me, so I'm sure there are others who will find this usefull.
Don't have a TV tuner card?
Well that is no longer an excuse for not uploading content.
After reading this, you'll be expected to upload numerous clips, just by having access to the internet.
Ever go to a website that let's you download a video that you can play, rewind, fastward in real time, but doesn't let you save the video to your comp, because it's in a Macromedia flash video format?--An ".FLV" extension to be exact. (If it's a normal wmv, avi, mpeg, or mov format than skip steps 7-8.)
Well, I fiddled around and figured out a roundabout way to access the file and convert it to avi, mpeg, wmv, etc.
1)After watching the video in a Firefox browser, open a new tab and type "about
:cache" in the address bar...press enter
2)Click "List Cache Entries" under "Disk Cache Device"
3)Hit Ctrl+f, and type in "FLV"
4)Keep clicking "Find Next" until it finds the link for a file with an ".flv" extension which is named appropriately to the video you just watched; also check the data size and make sure its got a large number of bytes appropriate to a video file. ie 1mb = 1 million+ bytes.
5) Click on the link for that file.
6) Right click on the new link for that file, and save as.
7) Download Free shareware program called CinemaForge
http://www.download.com/CinemaForge/...-10410160.html
and install.
8) Open program, For Input file, browse for the .FLV you just saved. For output file, click on "Output Type" and select AVI, MPEG, WMV, MOV etc. NOT ASF!!! (I hate it when people upload ASFs).
Then make sure you change the default Video Quality settings from Good to High, and the default Audio channel setting from Mono to Stereo.
9)Click "Encode" button.
Then go to Mixmakers and upload your Sheeit!!
THEN GO and DONATE some MTHFKing points to ME
THEN GO and tell your HOT SISTER all about ME
......
Troubleshoot: If you can't find the correct .flv file in your disk cache, then you may have to go to Tools, Options, Privacy, Cache, and add 1 or 2 more zeroes to that disk space number, so that the disk space is afforded enough space to hold the FLV, and then reload the video in the browser.
If anyone knows of a quicker, simpler way to do all of this, reply dammmit.
