No, I don't think so.
The best superhero movie for me is... hmm... Batman I (with Keaton & Nicholson)
Even though I walk in the dark valley,
I fear no evil.
For You are at my side
Truth, Beauty, and the Good
Work like you don’t need money,
love like you’ve never been hurt,
and dance like no one’s watching

I found it very poppy with pretty much no substance other than the Rorschach arc, which I ****ing loved. I really don't see how you can like this over TDK, which is just a perfectly executed crime drama, but it also portrays all the classic characters in fresh and exciting ways. Watchmen's main weakness is its script, which is just dreadful and everyone on the cast other than Jackie Earle Haley delivered subpar performances. What's her face's performance as Silk Spectre was downright awful. Every single one of her lines made me cringe.
Zack Snyder may have shot this movie panel for panel, but it will never compare to the graphic novel. The novel was a wonderful character study with very powerful themes. The only part of the movie that even began to express these themes was Rorschach's backstory, which in the theatrical cut was pretty short lived.
I don't really see another comic book movie outranking TDK until Batman 3. Burton's Batman hasn't aged well at all and it is way too over-the-top and cheesy. It's still better than Watchmen, however.
That was a pretty scatter-brained post, oh well. **** it.

I was sold on it after the opening credits, then the movie happened, it was good but not that great. now i look back on it, the dark knight was better.

I thought the story line was alright but Rorschach was the only interesting thing they got going in the movie. The God-like blue dude was kind of lame.

i listened to a review by mark kermodde(hes pretty big in the uk) and he spoke of watchmen as; the 'citizen kane' of comic movies. Granted this is based primarily on the concept and structure of the story telling, but its a valid point.
outside of manhatton(i know im spelling that wrong), and the uncommon structure of the story, theres too mcuh to dislike about watchmen for me. The rape scene is very awkward to bear and rorshack was just bloody awfull.
Watchmen deserves alot more recognition. But i think your attempt to have it considered as "the best superhero movie evermade" has less to do with the movie, and more to do with thinking with the few.

I don't base my opinion on somebody else's I have my own perspective on everything and I really do like it more than than any other superhero movie.

I don't recall the a lot of pretentious pathos lines in Watchmen but there were quite a few of them in TDK (like a lot of Gordon's lines and some others too) I don't recall any childish so called funny scenes in it too.
Watchmen is a just little bit more complicated and uncommon movie and every time you see you can discover smth new in it. TDK is strictly a one character movie and if not for the Joker I think I wouldn't have seen it more than once.

If this isn't a pretentious line than I don't know what is.
Rorschach's Journal. October 12th, 1985: Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire tread on burst stomach. This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll whisper "no."
Fun fact, before Rorschach took a liking to killing criminals he majored in poetry at the NYU.
And there's not going to be anything childish in the movie aside from unnecessary blue balls. It's a direct rip of Allen Moore's book. But did only I find it retarded that God couldn't do anything better than wipe out 10 square blocks in the middle of NY? He's ****ing GOD! Just teleport in and disarm the ****ing bombs. Kill both the presidents. Take over all the airwaves, tell people you can see into the future and that the countries are going to bring everyone into Armageddon. Build a big ass dome over where they launch the bombs out of. Bring his sand castle that he made on Mars into view and then make it real obvious and then he can take it down.
I understand the whole point of that 8 hour movie was for the 8 minute conclusion of killing some to save a lot. It just doesn't make sense. They could have redone it anyway... but they couldn't have, because then the movie wouldn't have been the movie. Which is why I don't think they should have ever made it. Should have made the opening credits and been satisifed like 95% of the movie audience.

it isn't
but like I said I've never read the novel so I viewed it without any prejudice solely as a movie so the ending does make a perfect sense to me
