Re: The Lakers: Next Year

yeah expect the lakers to be a powerhouse team... it will be pretty ridiculous if it works like it does on paper

If they're winning by the much, wouldn't Pau get more points that night? To blow a team out, you gotta be on your A game. And you'd think Pau would be on fire that night.

Lamar Odom is probably one of the better 3rd options in the league. There are very few third options who have more talent and skill than Lamar Odom. Not to mention his versatility is nearly unmatched.

Bynum was averaging 13 and 10 in 28 minutes per game. That's only going to get better.

Sleep on the Lakers. I dare you.
Gasol is pretty good but comparing him to Duncan on stats alone? Gasol is a pretty poor defender to say the least and Duncan is better in him in every aspect of Basketball. Kobe has reached his prime. I mean he may get more consistent in terms of shooting but I don't see him getting to much better than he is now.

On your other posts you make good points and to be honest the Lakers look to be a dangerous team in the future. Although, the way the Hornets are conducting themselves and majority of the team being fairly young thats another team I dread the Suns going up against in the future.

Re: The Lakers: Next Year

I agree with you RJ. I've been thinking this. I joke around and tell people we're going for EIGHTY next year, but seriously we're gonna be good. This year with all this turmoil, all these injuries, the toughest conference in years if not ever... we came out first and had 57 wins. Next year, with all this established chemistry, more experience, hopefully hopefully good health (we have to get a season of health one of these years)... and of course MVP, we're gonna be great.

Re: The Lakers: Next Year

Im stickin with Boston this year, but for sure next season's championship is LA's. Bynum back, a full off season of improvement for everyone else, along with Phil Jackson's thirst for a tenth ring = championship.

Re: The Lakers: Next Year

I heard somewhere that Gasol is actually an unrestricted free agent after this season. Is this true?

That's why Bynum's return is vital. We need a big man who goes up to block shots and gobble up the defensive boards. That's exactly what Bynum was doing earlier in the season, so I'm really looking forward to his return next season.

And btw, I don't act like the Lakers are underdogs at all; did you read my initial post? I'm claiming them to be the favorites next year, and going further, I think they're the favorites for the next 4-5 years. You can argue it all you want, but this is just my opinion on the matter.
