Baron Davis Might Opt Out

Todd Ramasar, the agent for point guard Baron Davis, failed to make any headway while meeting with the Warriors on Thursday and believes that his client could opt out of his contract and become a free agent, according to The San Mateo County Times.

"After sitting down with the Warriors organization (Thursday) regarding Baron's future, I don't know what direction the Warriors are going," Ramasar said. "Baron is adamant about remaining a Warrior but based on my conversations with the team (Thursday), we have to consider all of his options."

Another source close to Davis claimed that there is a '50-50' chance that the All-Star will become a free agent this summer and pursue other offers.

Davis will make $17.8 million next season if he elects not to opt out of the final year of the six-year pact he signed as a member of the New Orleans Hornets .

whohh. i thought that davis was a perfect fit with the warriors. but i guess after nelson benched him in the suns game, he got pissed.

there were talks of baron opting out or not returning to the warriors way before that incident

Damn, that hits hard. I'll be extremely sad if that happens. With that said, a pass first PG would probably fit in our system more as we have many scorers. The sad new is that if we lose him we have absolutely no true PG on our roster. So I really hope we can draft Augustin.

good fun team... but contenders no... look at kidd, kg, ray allen, tmac... all left for better contending teams... in the beginning its all about the money and fame, maybe some loyalty comes with that... but as you get older... you want that ring... sadly as much as i love the warriors... baron wont get it if he stays with them...

I think GS wants Monte Ellis to be their main PG. Baron is from LA, so maybe he will go to the clippers. They need a PG.

Clippers?

Miami needs a PG. If Marion decides to opt-out, the Heat could get Davis and take the load off of Wade so that he can be a scorer. All they would need to do is draft a frontcourt stud with a high pick and they can start rebuilding again.

Golden State could also try a S&T with Denver who also needs a real PG. Rumors are that Denver wants to get rid of Melo, Martin, or Camby. Camby would give them some real size.
