Legacy wise, Odom could gain just as much by bringing the Heat back. It has very little to do with money, the money is still on LA's side.

Sources: Knicks Have Stopped Pursuit Of Sessions
Quote:
Multiple league sources said Wednesday that they believed the New York Knicks had abandoned their pursuit of Bucks restricted free agent guard Ramon Sessions, leaving the Clippers as the prime candidate for the 23-year-old.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are believed to have mild interest in Sessions.

Duffy: Rubio Is Overrated -
07-27-2009, 09:11 AM
Quote:
Bill Duffy, agent for players like Steve Nash, believed Ricky Rubio was one of the more overrated players of the 2009 NBA Draft.
"To be honest with you, the other kid, Brandon Jennings, who played in Italy, ranked higher," said Duffy, referring to his client, a point guard who was picked 10th by Milwaukee. "I had three other first-round point guards, but I didn't have [Rubio] ranked that high. I think he is pretty good, but I think he might be a little hyped up.
"He is a flashy guy and he is young, but I think it is a lot of hype. I mean, he will be a good player, but they are trying to compare him with my guy Steve Nash or John Stockton -- I don't see that."
|
Well, maybe he's being a little bias since Brandon Jennings is his client, but Rubio is really overrated. I know the guy can play some ball, but, yeah, compare him to Steve Nash, that's BS.
I almost cry when people dare to compare him with Pistol Pete, one of the greatest player to ever play the game. That mushroom head can't shoot a jumper even if his life depended on it.

Pistons having a good offseason and adding more -
07-27-2009, 10:41 AM
Quote:
The Detroit Pistons are continuing to have an amazing offseason thus far. After a disappointing season last year, they have revamped and added some much-needed help.
The latest addition this offseason isn't some flashy guard, lanky forward, or a much-needed big man. It's a veteran coach named Brian Hill.
He and new head coach John Kuester have been assistants together. Kuester said since the day he became head coach that he's been trying to get Hill to move there.
Hill will be signing a contract some time next week.
I'm glad we got him here, he has been a big help with Devin Harris and hopefully he can be with Rodney Stuckey. I'm liking this offseason much more than any of the last few years.
In free agency news, Rasho signed with his old team, Toronto. So our new target is an old fan favorite, Ben Wallace.

anyways.....i think rubio wasted everyones time. first he declares that hes in the draft....then he doesn't bother working out for anyone. Scouts have to go overseas to watch him....then now supposedly hes signing a 2 year deal with another team. like why waste ppl's time like that.

It's almost laughable how wrong you guys are about Rubio. Every scout that has ever seen him play, has compared his passing ability to the likes of Steve Nash, Pistol Pete, etc. It's not like they're projecting him out -- like scouts are forced to do with Thabeet, Harden, etc -- they're saying his passing ability is that good right now, which for me, just speaks volumes to his game.
As ESPN draft expert Fran Fraschilla put it "the best passer in the last decade of drafts" and he's "got a Gretzky-like feel, he sees the game two and three plays ahead." Totally agree.

You think he's a little biased? And even if he wasn't, I'll stick to what all the draft evaluators, and scouts have to say about Rubio, instead of some random agent, who has probably never even seen the guy play.
I love how everybody keeps getting on Rubio's jump shot. He shot 44% from 3 last year, which, for those of you who don't know, the 3pt line in Europe is significantly farther then that in the College game. Rubio's jumper will be fine, and as he continues to mature as a player, the other areas in his game will be that much better. 5 years from now, fans -- and that 4 teams that passed on him -- will truly regret not being as excited about Ricky Rubio, as they should have been.

Rubio we cant say anything yet as we havent seen anything, but he can make a pass in Europe, lets see if he can make one in the NBA, cant wait to see this guy on the court, hes 18 and skinny, he will be pushed around more than Iverson and he better hope he can get those passes off. I will compare him to Dragic, but he could prove me wrong.
