McCants is out of Houston -
09-29-2009, 02:11 PM
Quote:
HOUSTON - Free agent guard Rashad McCants is no longer with the Rockets.
He had been given an invitation to join the team and try to earn a spot on the roster during training camp. McCants, however, is not healthy enough to take part in the workouts, so he is no longer with the team.
However, there is a possiblitiy that the Rockets will revisit bringing McCants back at some point.
McCants split time in 2008 between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Sacramento Kings.
He played his first three and a half years in the NBA with the Timberwolves.
During his career, McCants has averaged 10 points, 2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.

Not that big a loss, if he's still there, Barry > McCants...

Well sad for the quy, at least he was a scorer a few teams could use, including the Rockets imo. Can create a shot for himself, not too many on the healthy Rockets can do that right now.

The Cavaliers previously considered the possibility of trading Delonte West, sources said, but his recent instability has made that an impossible option.
Beyond the fact that he’s in his Cleveland apartment, one associate said, the reason for West’s absence is still a source of speculation for Cavs general manager Danny Ferry and coach Mike Brown. West attended the Cavs’ media day availability Monday but was an unexcused no-show for both of Tuesday’s practices at the team’s facility in suburban Cleveland.

With the NBA fearful of the damage an H1N1 flu outbreak could create on the league, the league office has passed down an anti-handshake directive.
Players and coaches have been asked to greet each other via more sanitary means of contact, such as fist pounding.
“No handshaking,” Doc Rivers said. “I think it’s a good thing. A fist pound is just great.”

Nellie backs Ellis' comments -
09-30-2009, 09:29 AM
Quote:
A day after ruffling the Warriors' media day by saying he couldn't envision playing alongside Stephen Curry, Monta Ellis on Tuesday modified his statements.
"The only way we'd be able to play together is certain matchups," said Ellis, who, like Curry, is 6-foot-3 and in the 180-pound range. "That's the only way."
Coach Don Nelson talked to Ellis about his previous comments, and they agreed that teams with big shooting guards will make an Ellis-Curry backcourt improbable.
Ellis "didn't say anything that was untrue," Nelson said. "There will be plenty of times that they won't be able to play with each other. I wouldn't put them in a situation in which they couldn't compete."
On Day 1 of training camp, Ellis started with 6-5 off-guard Anthony Morrow, but Nelson said not to make much of the lineups yet.
"Coach makes those calls. I just play basketball," Ellis said. "There's no problem. There's no problem at all."
Ellis' comments from the day earlier were construed by some as shots at Curry, but the rookie wasn't offended.
"If he sees that a bigger lineup is better, that's his opinion, and I'm sure coach will take it into consideration," Curry said. Ellis "knows how to win and what it's going to take, so, if that's what he sees, there's got to be some validity to it."
Ellis and Curry encouraged each other during drills and joked with one another in the locker room. The relationship, which is two days old, hasn't developed beyond those interactions so far.
"It's going to be the same way it was when I came in here with Baron Davis and Derek Fisher," Ellis said. "They didn't come around and butter me up and pat me on my butt.
"This is basketball. It's serious. You compete and make each other better. That's all it is."

Monta know what his taking about, and good to know Nellie knows it.
It will be hard for Monta and Curry to guard guys like Kobe, Wade, Vc etc.

It's true, you can't play with two 6"3 or 6"5 guys at the guards positions, at least not when they're this tiny and skinny.

LeBron: I Love New York. -
09-30-2009, 04:30 PM
"LeBron: I Love New York!"
Quote:
During an interview in New York to promote the "More than a Game" movie release, LeBron James said, "I'm very excited to be here in New York, I love New York ... you know, couldn't be better than to be in the Mecca of basketball and that's New York City."
The interviewer then asked James, "And we know you said you loved playing at MSG, how about next summer?"
James responded, "We'll see when it gets here, all right," and ended the interview
|
Scenario #1:
I think that LeBron James will obviously be staying in Cleveland. Why wouldn't he? He needs more talent to surround him, but that can be resolved. I doubt he will go to New York for a worse team then Cleveland. Doesn't he want to win a ring or not? He'll blow his chances if he goes to New York and signs a long - term deal, if they don't get anyone to help him in N.Y. L.B.J. will be in a worse predicament in New York.
LeBron James in a Knicks Uniform:
Doesn't look so good.
Scenario #2:
LeBron signs a long - term deal with the New York Knicks and they surround him with talent from the 2010 Free Agency Class of Superstars/Stars. Then, LeBron can definitely compete for a championship with the talent surrounding him. First, LeBron has to make sure that he gets a guarantee from the New York Knicks, that they will do everything in their power to surround him with superstars/stars before he signs because, like stated previously, he would be in a worse predicament then in Cleveland.
