I bet no one would said lakers got lucky or something like that if pau wasnt such a good fit with lakers. But if you want say it was a steal go head....its only good for the lakers that doesnt bother me one bit.

GMs and Experts alike came out and laughed at how much of a steal it was. There have been lobsided trades over the years but few if any have been that lobsided whilst involving the caliber of player that Lakers got. If you weren't such a d*ck you would just lap up the success it has brought and not cared for such comments. I would tell you to get some perspective, but you're a Laker fan, and I'm a realist.

I knew him...

Especially from the crappy cover of NBA Inside Drive 2003 (no hairy hobo and lookes constipated).

Well it was better than the Paul Pierce cover I suppose.

And Pau Gasol was a franchise player? He couldn't even win a playoff game until he became a 2nd banana.

Shaq was good enough to be an all-star last season. He was also good enough to score 18 ppg on 61fg% and grab 8 boards. He can still draw double-teams. Not exactly something to sneeze at, especially when Ilgauskas is only giving Cleveland 12ppg on 47% shooting last season. They didn't even have to give up Ilagauskas to get him.

RJ isn't even close to being worth 3 over-the-hill roleplayers. Even you know that.

Dude, even the Iverson for Billups trade wasn't as lucky as the Kwame Brown for Gasol.

If I thought that was the case, I would have made this thread last season. Detroit made the deal partially because they thought Stuckey was ready to take over for Billups. Big mistake.

you do realise that Kwame got traded? Kwame friggn brown. The guy got booed by his own arena when he touched the ball because he misses open dunks, drops catches and bricks open layups.

But seriously the trade makes sense, memphis needed an expiring contract blah blah. But its just funny that LA got rid of Kwame and got Pau Gasol instead because I'm sure they would have taken anybody or nobody in return.

Dude, Memphis really got the better half of that deal. I mean Kwame > Jordan.

So what is with the recent amount of retarded trades?
