Next time anybody complains about Memphis giving away Pau Gasol for Kwame Brown, I'm going to mention these trades.

Shaq to Cleveland for a over-the-hill Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic.
Richard Jefferson to San Antonio for old Bruce Bowen, old Kurt Thomas, and old Oberto.

It wasn't we got lucky as much as we stole Pau in the worst deal of western civilization.

When really, yea if you look at players, it looks disgustingly one-sided... but we gave away Kwame's 9mil expiring contract (which was one of if not the biggest that year), and Pau was acting injured there and not playing at all anyways.

I hope Bowen and Oberto don't re-sign with the Spurs, that'll be even worse

Kwame was in the last year of his contract so that was excusable -- at the time i was under the impression he wasn't

even so, what jackpot the Lakers hit; middle of the season, Bynum goes down, enter Gasol
