Shaq Will Wear No. 33 In Cleveland

Shaquille O'Neal is going back to his old No. 33 in Cleveland.

O'Neal was traded to the Cavaliers on Thursday, and the team announced his jersey decision on Friday. The center, a 15-time All-Star, wore No. 33 in high school and at LSU before turning pro.

He has worn No. 32 and No. 34 with previous teams.

Weird seeing Shaq in a # 33 jersey, but he did wear it in college and HS.

Yeah I was expecting it too, after the Suns-deal didn't go that great for him, and Miami didn't either, so I expected him to get back the 34, and maybe piss a lil' bit on it with Bryant, with the 34

shaq's original number was 33. when he played for the lakers he couldn't take that number cuase it was retierd (Kareem Abdul Jabar) 32 wasn't a option either cause it was also retierd (Magic Johnson) so he took 34. In miami he couldn't take 33 again cause alonso mourning had it. Now in cleveland he can finally get his old number back

You still didn't tell us why didn't take it in Orlando or why he didn't take it in Miami either since Zo wasn't around when Shaq got traded to the Heat.

But either way Shaq did wear 33 in college and why should we even get a solid explanation to this? He just felt like taking 33. I mean, this is Shaq we're talking about, not everything has to have an explanation behind it when it comes to him.

FYI, Shaq wore 33 in College and it was his number. When he got to Orlando, there was a bum on the team that had 33 and wouldn't give it to Shaq cause Shaq was 'only a rookie' -- so Shaq took 32.

When he moved to LA, he couldn't take 33 cause of Kareem, couldn't take 32 cause of Magic so he took 34. Moved to Miami and took on 32 cause 33 was always Zo's number. Got to Phoenix so he took 32 because he had that most of the time in the league. Now in Cleveland, I don't know the reason behind, but i'm guessing it may have something to do with the fact that it was his original number in College, and has never had it in the NBA -- I guess he wants to have it at least once in the league?
