Rubio To Stay In Spain - 06-26-2009, 11:57 AM

Quote:
A report on Marca on Thursday night quoted Ricky Rubio's father as saying he will likely remain in Spain instead of joining the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Kevin Love sent out a Twitter post on Friday indicating that Rubio indeed would remain in Spain.

"Rubio to stay in Spain according to his father," writes Love.

So the Timberwolves cant complain about this? I mean you draft the guy and he just let you down like a piece of crap, I mean if Rubio knew he was going to stay in Europe he shoulda told his team. What a disrespect from Rubio's part. I remember the guy was not allowed to talk to the media in Spain until he turned 18, because his father considered that he could be inmature or something and didnt want to commit mistakes. If you get drafted No 5 in the NBA and you think that's a bad idea for your future I wonder where Kevin Durant, Carmelo, LeBron, Iverson and other guys would be playing.

According to Rubio's words the Wolves let him stay in Spain for one more year. Still, Rubio's now in a pretty difficult situation since he's not being clear on his intention to play in the NBA or not. He thought Sacramento would draft him, but look, another spanish point guard got the better result of the night by getting traded to the Kings.

If he dose decide to stay in Spain then it is pretty disrespectful to be in the draft then decide you dont wana play anymore. But it might not be that bad because the drafted Jonny Flynn
