TORONTO -- It appears that Andrea Bargnani has secured his long-term future with the Toronto Raptors.
The NBA club has called a news conference for Wednesday afternoon at the Air Canada Centre where it's expected to announce a contract extension for the seven-foot Italian forward, who was selected No. 1 overall by the Raptors in the 2006 draft.
The deal is reported to be worth an estimated $50 million over five seasons starting in 2010-11.
Raptors star Chris Bosh mentioned the extension late Tuesday night on his Twitter account.
"Congrats to Andrea Bargnani 5 yrs 50 mill with The Raptors," Bosh tweeted

no, this is a good extension, Bargnani is gonna be a star in the league, last season from about late December or early January, he was clearly one of the best Raptor on the floor each night, he was consistent and putting up 18 and 7 ish almost every night, had 20 point games, 10 plus rebound games, and has really improved on defense blocking shots and standing tall in the post.
