DaGettoMan - Ben Gordon is going to be Pistons' JR Smith, you have to understand this.

12.8 PPG | 8.5 RPG | 1 BPG | 52 % shooting.

This is the second straight year Dumars has made some risk moves. Last year he made perhaps the worst move of the season, acquiring Iverson (SG) and letting Billups (PG) go. That trade wasn't good for Detroit or Iverson, who now finds everyone (but me) questioning his value as a player.

Again they brought in a SG (Gordon), when they still have one (Hamilton). Their frontcourt is questionable. Coaching staff the same. I don't see them making the playoffs, but in the east everything is possible.

The stuff last year was terrible, this is not. I called that, that would be the worst move ever made.

The difference as I've pointed out is Ben is not Allen Iverson and not a complainer. Plus like I've said I won't be surprised when Hamilton gets traded for a front court guy.

Another note: The coaching staff is not the same at all? People seem to not know much about the new Pistons.

Haha I ain't a Hamilton guy, I just think it won't work out. Ben can say anything he wants but doing is something different than talking. I can't imagine him not getting upset about playing 24-29 minutes a game. Who will be in the in the last 5 minutes? Ben Gordon has proved to be a clutch guy. If you put Gordon in there, what will Hamilton say? I think it will just not work and that can really upset the whole team, especially because it's a young team with Stucky, Bynum, Maxiell, Daye, all those guys. Only real veterans are Prince, Hamilton and Wallace, they've seen it all. Prince is a quiet guy, Hamilton will be the subject of talking and I don't know about Wallace, after he signed with the Bulls he really hasn't shown anything. So I don't doubt the talent of the Pistons, but I do doubt their youngness and their balance. If you think Gordon will be fine with 24 mpg and sitting on the bench in the 4th then you need to wake up. It's a business, it's a big stage. Everybody wants to shine, especially if you've proven to be a go-to-guy and a leading scorer. It just doesn't work, which I'll doubt it will work in the ATL with Bibby, Johnson and Crawford.

Look man I'm really not trying to piss you off or anything like that, hating or something, I just don't see it working. Please just tell me how you WILL see it working, with the minutes and the 4th quarters and the front-court. Just being gentle, no hate man, one love

I didn't say the coaching staff is the same, I said it's also questionable.

I agree with DaGettoMan, I don't see how Hamilton or Gordon can be happy, knowing one will be on the bench in the final minutes. Or they will play without a point guard in that stretch (another risk move).

This year will prove last year wasn't just Iverson's fault.

If it gets to be where they both start complaining Rip will be traded for a front court man. I don't know why they haven't traded him already, I love the guy a ton and I'm a huge fan, but his time is over. He's not as clutch as BG and he's not the leader BG is either. If they want BG to earn that contract they'll trade Rip for a big man, until then I have to hope BG sticks true to his word and doesn't complain and just does his job off the bench.

Brown will be just fine in the front court for now and as for the 4 you've got a great scorer Charlie V and a tough-hard nosed, no nonsense type guy in Wilcox plus Maxiell who's improving all the time. So the front court isn't terrible but they need depth. I have said though they need to draft a 5 next year no matter what in the first round. No more of this Austin Daye junk.

Oh gotcha the way you worded it with just the coaching staff the same confused me.

I don't think anything will ever prove that it wasn't Iversons fault. He was a ***got who complained way too much.

I agree, I just can't see it working. You can play with 2 tweeners I think, but you can't play with 2 SG's. You can play with two PF's, 2 SF's while putting one of them at the 4, but two SG's? No, they both need the ball to be effective.

So you're basically saying they need to trade Hamilton, which I think too. But that doesn't explain how this will work when they're both on the team for all of next season.

Who says it will be all of next season? I think BG is the proven clutch shooter so in the 4th it's his. If Rip wants to complain he can just be dealt. Right now in the pre-season it has worked fine. BG is putting up over 20 points and Rip like over 10. Obviously Rip may want some more chances, and if he's on in any given situation he should be left in. They'll have to play it by who's shooting the best that night and if the other wants to complain then too bad, but I figure they'll understand if a coach leaves in one or the other because he's got a hot hand.

All wanderers and no leaders. Prince is great, Maxiell's awesome, Gordon and Hamilton can score, etc.
After Billups left, none of the players right now can think for themselves.

If I can't have Billups, I want Baron Davis. That would be sweet.

Sorry to repeat what everyone's saying, but the Gordon-and-Hamilton tradeoff is not going to work.

For now... I say... 6th seed.
"But Phat, aren't you shooting a bit high?"
I see them ahead of Philly and Chicago.
