This just makes me like Gil even more, i sort of felt like he wanted to answer the questions properly, but he didn't because hes trying to prove a point. I give him the thumbs up and hope he keeps doing it.

I dunno why you guys are giving him props for this interview...how much does Gilbert make a year?...It's part of his job to talk to the media...ppl were down on Gilbert?..oh well, it's life, bounce back play better...take the good with the bad. Your a professional for a reason..and kids look up to you like it or not.

This is NOT about defying Stern or about the 100 mikes stuck into his face. Gil loved the attention till last year.
This is about all the arm chair experts talking about he was more concerned with being in the limelight than about getting healthy and winning. Or about how he was trying to steal the attention from his teammates who were actually playing. This is about one player having the balls to open up to the public like we hope Kobe and LeBron will, and being shat all over for being "unfocused" because his knees gave out. This is about Gil taking the "let your game do the talking" phrase to another level. But now he's a d!ck, a jerk, an a-hole with an attitude problem. Sadly to me, he's the cliche clammed up superstar who talks in truisms and monosyllables. Just like your/my favorite player. Its about knowing where you're going. Not forgetting where you started. Its about having the courage to fail. Not breaking when you're broken. Taking everything you've been given and making something better. Its about work before glory and what's inside of you. Its doing what they say you cant. Its not about the shoes, its about what you do in them. Its about being....what you were born to be. |
