Charles Barkley believes that the NBA's age limit needs to be raised even higher.
His proposed limit would mandate players be two years removed from high school or have two years of college prior to entering the league.
"I have always thought the longer they stay in college, their level of play will improve," Barkley told the Boston Globe. "You go to college to learn how to play.
"When you are in high school, you're just good because you are bigger, stronger, and faster than everybody else. You should go to college to learn how to play. They are bypassing that, and it hurt the NBA for a long time.
"The NBA is back on the upswing but there was a few years where we had a bunch of talented players who didn’t have a clue how to play."

The impact college would have on the way you play the NBA game is now probably less than ever in the modern game. It's become far more individual-orientated than it has ever been. One major part of college basketball is understanding the system you deploy, and the way each factor plays apart in that system... ala, it teaches the understanding of the 5 man game both offensively and defensively and why fundamentals are so important to that system.
I don't see the league heading back in that direction for quite a while.

His comments about being faster stronger etc than everyone else is true..except doesn't that makes even MORE sense to NOT have an age limit?
Example:
Player 1 comes into the NBA, gets dominated as skills begin to own him. Player 1 thinks f*ck I can't just use my athletism anymore, I have to work on my game
Player 1 during 1-2 years learns how the NBA works, and works on his skill. Best way to learn+become better? Play against those who are the best / better than you. Playing in college will have you playing against a lot of players you are still better than. And the great players you do face, are far less skilled than those of the NBA..
Result?
Hopefully player 1 becomes mentally + skillfully betters in those 2 years of being in the NBA as a result
