Iverson Already Unhappy With Role In Memphis - 11-03-2009, 05:41 PM

Quote:
Allen Iverson is already unhappy with his role in Memphis. He made his season debut on Monday after missing time with a hamstring injury.
Iverson played 18 minutes in the team's overtime loss to the Kings, scoring 11 points.
"I had no problems (with the hamstring). I had a problem with my butt sitting on that bench for so long," Iverson told the Memphis Commercial Appeal.
When a reporter suggested that the Grizzlies' bench needed Iverson's scoring punch, he disagreed.
"No. I'm not a bench player. I'm not a sixth man," Iverson added. 'Look at my resume and that'll show I'm not a sixth man. I don't think it has anything to do with me being selfish. It's just who I am. I don't want to change what gave me all the success that I've had since I've been in this league. I'm not a sixth man. And that's that."
Well His Allen Iverson, and nobody can change that. IMO he still can do what he does best, and he cant do it coming off the bench.

Don't worry how I look, just watch my Game.

That's what I see. The Grizzlies were begging for a basket in overtime, and they kept their best scorer on the bench, while Rudy Gay was missing FTs, OJ Mayo was turning the ball over, and Conley was getting blocked.

Everybody is so busy blaming Iverson for whatever he does, that they don't even see that he is right sometimes.

What? Maybe you and AI expected him to get 40 minutes in his first game? Dude did nothing but look for his shots the entire time he was on the floor, in the end, after all the big speeches in the summer, he's still Cancerson.

He was doing fine from the floor, and they needed some scoring in OT, that's what I said. I didn't think he should have played 40min, but it's a waste to have a big time scorer like that on the bench while your team is struggling offensively.

What did Iverson expect when he joined Memphis?

They've got to many scorers. Phoenix got away with it back in the day because they had a fantastic offensive PG in Steve Nash but Grizzles have Michael Conley running the point. They have no chance.

hahahahhahha. now i am sorry that someone actually picked him up when nobody else wanted to and that statement explain why. he needs to STFU and understand that he is NOT the same AI as he was in Philadelphia. yeah, he was great back then but NOT any longer.
