Where does Rondo rank between the best PGs?

thats probably my list in terms of actual point guards, i consider arenas more of a 2 guard + if were talking about actual point guard abilities, yea then rondo is right up there but his lack of a jumpshot really kills him and derrick rose as well.

Hes not Top10 in my opinion.

The Celtics made him that good, if he was on another team, he wouldnt have those kind of stats.

You can say that his apg might've benefited from playing alongside such great teammates but his scoring and rebounding have definitely taken a hit because of that same reason.

not really. he got great shooters on his team, which space the floor for rondo's drives, his primary weapon on offense.

Yeah but that don't necessarily mean that he wouldn't be able to score otherwise.

I have the same top5 as you but in place of TP I have Nash.

I would not even put him above Rose.

People just hate on him cause he is on the celtics and all the talk about him being on a great team makes him as good as he is is irelavent. The celtics are one of the best teams in the league and he has to control that team and be a leader and thats what he has done.

So he cant shoot means he isnt one of the elite guards in the league ?? Look at jason kidd, when he first got into the league they called him kidd because he didnt have a J, but over time he developed a pretty decent shoot. He cant take over games Have you forgotten the playoffs when he averged close to a triple double when Kg was out?

rondos a simple pg hes never gonna be a leader of any sort.

Explain a simple point guard? Being one of the top rebounding point guards, averaging almost 10 points and 10 assists,3 steals and being a good defender makes him SIMPLE.

Rose isn't better in any category of the game.
Rondo = best defensive point guard in the NBA
Rondo's dishing ability > Rose's dishing ability
Rondo's rebounding ability >>> Rose's rebounding ability
Rondo's court vision > Rose's court vision
Rondo's shooting = Rose's shooting
Rondo's stealing ability > Rose's stealing ability
Rondo's communicateing > Rose's communicateing
Rondo's quick feet and hands > Rose's quick feet and hands.

Rondo in my opinion is in top 5 at the moment (list in no order: Rondo, Paul, Williams, Nash, Parker) and he has the possibility to become NBA's best point guard, he's the youngest of them all (23 years old) and he will definately devellop his game much further. And his shooting isn't as bad as you display, also, it will come with time.
