haha Again, I'm not hating on Phil. How bout this, I LOVE MIKE D'ANTONI... But, he's overrated. He got stuck with some of the 3 best players in the league. And he succeeded with them. He is a good coach. Not great though.

As for Phil, he is a great coach, but he's been said as the 2nd best coach of all time. And a lot think he IS the best. I just don't think that. Top 10, sure. But not 2nd or 1st.
Thats all.
If I say someones overrated, it doesn't mean I'm saying they suck. Like, LeBron is overrated. But he doesn't suck. He's one of the best in the league.... at times. ha

Re: Phil Jackson: Overrated?

just cuz a few guys say phil is number 1 all time doesnt mean he is overrated, in order to be overrated the majority has to think something, IMO....so i stick by my original answer....no

Re: Phil Jackson: Overrated?

you guys put in a lot of good points... but you have to know that just because he coached jordan and kobe doesnt mean he was overrated... you try coaching very strong headed individuals who want to do everything their way, while keeping the rest of the team in sync with one another... Jordan wasnt the easiest to coach so you have to put that into perspective...

A few? I checked a national poll. He was voted 2nd all time. Over 20% said he was the best.

Re: Phil Jackson: Overrated?

No way, he ain't overrated. If a guy gets 9 rings from coaching, he have no proof that he's overrated.

Phil Jackson has 10 rings.
  • 9 as a coach
  • 1 as a player

No. Before Nash he had a terrible percentage.
