still darko, they were developing Tayshaun prince, imagine if they had taken wade and benched prince, do they even get out the semi's without that block on Reggie Miller? wud Wade commit to the defensive mentality they enstilled?

Re: 5 Years ago, if you had a choice

I am pretty sure Wade would have. They guy was all over the court at Marquette and was named defensive player of the year in CUSA for a reason.

A better question would be, would Wade have even been considered on the same level as Darko, or Melo (since no one was even close to a prospect as LeBron that year) during the time of the draft if he never ripped off that triple double against Kentucky? Pretty sure that was the defining moment that sealed his spot that high in the draft. Everyone knows that a good season with a STRONG March means you can raise your stock from late first to lottery. Look at Sean May who was not considered a lottery pick and then he has arguably the greatest month in the history of North Carolina to move into the the lottery.

Ohh yeah, I would have drafted Melo because he would have been top 5 the year before out of high school and carrying a team on your back as a frosh to win the National Championship normally would answer any questions.

Beasley averaged 26/12. I don't care what you do in the tournament, that's going to get you drafted high. Mayo is an exception. We all knew what he could do, he showed that and improvement during his tenor at USC, and he is one of those guys who would have been a top five pick if he left out of high school, after his freshman year, after his senior.

Re: 5 Years ago, if you had a choice

D-Wade has been clearly the best player of those you named...

Yeah, personally I think Wade gets/(got) too many fouls called for him, and like Lebron he seems to have unlimited range when moving without dribbling (traveling). But still, he's the one with the best numbers, and the one who has won what matters: the championship.
