Who was the most important role player for Boston?
In just the NBA Finals, who was the most important role player for Boston? They probably wouldn't have won the series had it not been for their just about every player who logged minutes in the series, but who was the most important?
Rondo: Key playmaker in Boston's first 2 wins, averaged 5 rpg and over 8 apg in Celtic wins Posey: Huge role in holding down Kobe throughout series and made clutch 3s in game 4, averaged 3.5 3pg in last 2 wins Brown: Underrated role in series with Perkins out and brought muscle in the middle to disrupt Gasol House: Valuable minutes with Rondo out, helped spread the floor for Boston and helped keep Cassell off the floor Powe: Not much of an impact other than Game 2, but was a major reason they won pivotal game 2 and helped expose Lakers' major weakness

James Posey! For making that 3 consistently and in the crunch time and playing a great D on whoever on the lakers

The point of role players is to come off the bench and work together so its hard to single it on one person. I would have to go with Posey though he played great D on Kobe when Pierce or Ray wasnt on him and the obvious fact of 3's. I also really liked house and PJ Brown, everybody was a factor.

Posey for his clutch 3's. Not for his defense on Kobe. Kobe just played like crap. Had nothing to do with Posey.

Re: Who was the most important role player for Boston?
I'll say rondo just because you put him on the list...but since hes a starter, i dont think he should be there, especially since hes the fourth best player.
and i dont think pj should count because he joined when about 3/4 of the season was over, lol. |
