Stockton or Malone?

If you could only build your franchise around either John Stockton or Karl Malone which player would you choose to build it around?

A top5 Point Guard of all-time or a top5 Power Forward of all-time? Good question. I'll probably take Malone, especially looking at his size and strength, with such a knowledge of how to play the game. Nothing against Stock. I hated 'em both, but were both great players - I got Malone

you cant win a championship without a dominant big man is the general idea, so malone would be my choice

Stockton and Malone were like bread and butter, you couldn't have one without the other. Although if I had to choose one or the other I would probably take Malone.

I would take malone because it's harder to find a great big man
but I agree that he wouldn't be the same dominant player without stockton

I would usually take a big man for a franchise...Altough it's hard not to take a guy like Stockton....

malone, because any guard could dish him the ball and he'd create or muscle in his buckets, i just think a guy like malone is critical to a team.

Then again you can argue that the amount of points stockton was accountable for through assists and his own scoring are just as equal to the impact of malone.

Im still choosing malone because he finished on the plays that gave stock the assist
