Elite 8 @ the best...probably S16. Like Dawg said, the inconsistancy of the guards was the downfall of the team. A frontcourt of Beasley and Walker @ the 5 and 4 and then Hoskins @ the 3 would have been one of the best in the country. Hoskins is a great player who does a little bit of everything but he's not a PG or SG, and that is where the team sucked. Pullen had a good Freshman year but was inconsistant...Stewart just plained sucked all year. We didn't have a SG that could shoot the ball, unless we put Pullen @ the 2, but he got r@ped on defense against bigger and stronger 2's. W/out Beasley the team doesn't make the NIT. W/out Beasley and Walker the team finishes below .500
It drove me crazy when people would rag on Beasley about how he couldn't get the team past the 2nd round. Besides Walker and Pullen the players around him were awful. Beasley single handedly won a ton of games for K-State last year.
This year is gonna be a tough one for the Cats. I see a 10-15 win season. It'll be a couple years, but K-State will be back in contention in the Big 12. Their 2009 recruiting class will likely be top 10 Nationally...maybe top 5.
