Surprise team of 08!!
i think the cleveland browns really have a shot at going far into playoffs this year because they really improved last season but missed out on playoffs. this offseason they didnt have any good picks in the draft but they added donte stallworth, cory williams and shaun rogers. 3 very good players who will step in as starters.
other teams i think will do well are the texans, ravens and the jets. |

Re: Surprise team of 08!!
well if Falcons get their **** together I think the Falcons gonna surprise this year
but Browns is good they have a great QB Derek Anderson and they got one of the best WR in the league Braylon Edwards so the Browns will also surprise many this year but I still gotta go with the Falcons I mean Matt Ryan and they got a new RB and they have a pretty interesting group of young WRs |

Re: Surprise team of 08!!
Brown's already surprised last year. I don't think anybody would be surprised if they were able to get deep into the playoffs. I want to go out on a limb and say Cincy will be better this year too. Should be an interesting year.
Texans definitely have the potential to surprise, but they're in one of the toughest divisions, with the Colts, Jaguars, and Titans. I think the competition will be pretty solid all the way through. Tennessee might surprise. I don't expect the Ravens to surprise. AFC North is another tough division, and they have a tough schedule. I'd say it will take them another year to get up to par. I'd have to agree with the Jets though. After their first few games, they should cruise through some of the teams, and their division isn't that scary other than New England, although the Bills are improved too. Falcon's won't surprise next year. Michael Turner's not going to make them a contender all of a sudden. They've lost too much talent, and the entire situation in Atlanta is just.. not promising. I'm going to throw Oakland into the mix. Now I don't expect them to be back in their early 00's form, but if Jamarcus can step up, I think they can get a few more wins. |

Packers. (yeah i say this every year) But really, every one says they are a way worse team with Aaron Rodgers at QB, but i dont think so... Rodgers has a strong arm, and is mobile, i think we'll be ok next year.

Re: Surprise team of 08!!
I'm probably going to go with Cleveland aswell, although I really don't like them that much they've made some alright moves this off-season and are looking pretty strong to make the playoffs and possibly go further than the first week.
I hope the Eagles do something this year, McNabb needs to have a big year and Westbrook will always be Westbrook so we don't need to worry about him. We just need to finish teams off when we are infront, and be able to come back from being down late in the game, which are two things we've struggled on this year.

Re: Surprise team of 08!!
I like the Texans too. Schaub was playing really well before he was injured, Johnson was the most dominating receiver in the NFL before Schaub was injured, and they have one of the nastiest d-lines in the game right now. Their offensive line is still crap, but they didn't look that bad last year and if Brown can develop, he should be a beast of a tackle. Not sure what's happening in their run game with Brown and Green, then you have rookie Slaton. Something is going to work out, right?
They have 6 games they should win, imo (SF, Mia, StL, Buff, NYJ, and Arz). Then they should win some divisional games totally to 9 wins and a wild card spot. |
