Quote:
What do you think of the list? Should changes be made or is this pretty much spot on?

Re: SN Ranks The Top 25 WR's In The NFL
I don't agree with having a 36 year old coming back from major knee surgery ahead of guys like Chad Johnson & Steve Smith. And why is smith so low? Apparently they aren't taking into account the fact he lost his QB almost all of last season. You are only as good as the QB that is throwing to you.
Andre Johnson is talented but he hasn't had the year that guys below him have had. Santonio Holmes is nowhere to be found on this list! I have a lot of problems with this list Last edited by ut_jazz; 07-17-2008 at 12:39 PM. |

Re: SN Ranks The Top 25 WR's In The NFL
Andre Johnson in terms of pure talent is better than most of the guys he's above except probably Fitz and Smith. I mean if he and Schaub don't go down, they have an enormous year, and the Texans probably would have made the playoffs. I think Colston is a bit high and Welker is a little low. I do not understand how this is ranked because some players have the talent so they are rated high, then you have guys who actually do produce who are rater low, then you have guys who produce and aren't as talent rated high and vice versa.
Brandon Marshall is one of the best specimens of a receiver I have ever seen. |

Re: SN Ranks The Top 25 WR's In The NFL
a top 10 is difficult to make let alone a top 25, but i think they did a good job, the only problem i have is that roy williams is a top 5 receiver and shud be ahead of harrison, and harrison shud move down to 7 and take plaxico outta the top 10, plaxico is very good, but i dont think hes there yet with the other guys

Randy Moss ftw.
And i think harrison should actually move up, and Owens should move down. causing Ocho Cinco to move up |

Why the heck is Wes Welker on this list?
And why is he ahead of Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson? If it was fantasy projections I might see it. But ranking actual players, no way.

Re: SN Ranks The Top 25 WR's In The NFL
I couldn't agree with you more. It blows my mind to see him grouped with the other guys. He is totally a product of Tom Brady and Randy Moss (and to an extent, Donte Stallworth). NE MADE teams play deep and fear the long-ball, so WW just had to juke out LBs near the LOS and get easy yards. He's got good hands and is "quick", I'll give him that, but he couldn't carry an offense. He should be judged as a #1 WR, and without a pass-heavy system.
