Some late round running back sleepers:

Gartrell Johnson, RB, Colorado State
Gartrell was CSU's workhorse back and CSU wasn't expected to do much this season but this special player put that team on his back and they made it to a bowl game. In that bowl game Gartrell rushed for 285 yards, 2 TD's, and had 90 yards receiving. He has burst and power to be a great back in the NFL. Projected as a 5th-6th round pick.

Glenn Coffee, RB, Alabama
Coffee is being underrated after the tremendous season with Alabama. Yes he is not the fastest or most elusive guys but he is a tough, physical back that fights for every yard. Put into the right system can make a impact in the pro's. While the Utes got the best of Coffee in the Sugar Bowl, people forget his big game vs. Florida in the SEC title game. Projected as a 4th-5th round pick

Aaron Brown, RB, TCU
TCU's Brown was a speedster that made TCU's offense go. Seeing him in person I can tell you he has another gear that few players have. Injuries held him back from being a star and he doesn't have enough power to carry the ball on regular basis... but I could see him make it in the NFL as a good special teams player. He had his best games against his toughest competition - 106 yards vs. Utah & 102 yards vs. Boise State in the Credit Union Bowl and for the season he averaged 5.5 yards per carry - So he is a big game player that rises to the occasion on the big stage. He is projected as a 7th round pick.

Good call. I liked all three of those guys at late-round prospects also. Anyway, to kill some time before the draft, here's a fun little article to read:

just read this on nfl.com
Quote:
The Shreveport Times is reporting that LSU WR and NFL draft prospect Demetrius Byrd is in intensive care at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami after he was involved in a car accident on Sunday. LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette confirmed the report.

Byrd has been training for the NFL Draft this weekend. He was a key member on LSU’s 2007 national championship team and had 37 receptions for 513 yards and four touchdowns in 2008

all the best to him and i hope he has a speedy recovery

Word on the street is that Byrd is in a lot better condition than reports are making him out to be.

Quote:
I know there's a lot of talk on the message boards right now about Demetrius Byrd and a car accident. Demetrius was in a car accident this morning (Sunday morning)in Miami, but he's okay. They think a blow out is what caused the wreck - which happened while he was on his way to Church. His car is totaled and he had to be cut out of the vehicle, which is why people started speculating that he was seriously injured. He went to the hospital for observation, but what I'm being told by one of his advisors is that he suffered only bumps and bruises. He is obviously very lucky. I will keep you posted if I get any updates.
Apparently from someone close to the situation. Or not. I'm looking through the thread, and people with other "sources close to the situation" disagree.

I agree, Nicks is a stud. To produce the numbers that he did in UNC's offense is impressive
If I needed a WR I would pick Nicks over anyone else, he's going to produce.

Today on ESPN they were debating whether Detroit should really take Matthew Stafford. Considering that this is one of the worst QB classes in recent memory and that next year will be one of the best draft classes, it is a worthy debate. Why do you think Sanchez left USC, he knew he would be the 2nd QB taken in this class. Detroit could build more for it's future with a O-Lineman like Jason Smith than they could draft their franchise QB(Sam Bradford, Mccoy, Tebow..) next season when there are more options. Yes they will go through another rough season but it'll be worth it I think.

It won't happen though. Stafford and Smith both have the same agent, and he's clearly going to push for the player that will get him the most money.

Broncos can really help their defense with the 12th & 18th picks

than they can wait on drafting a RB like Gartrell Johnson or Glen Coffee later in the draft

drafting Moreno is tempting, but they need defensive help pretty bad
