7.5 Sacks came out of GB, and we know how well they can protect the QB:



One of his sacks was against the aging veteran, Jonathan Odgen, the other 2 were against Jeff Backus and Joe Staley, Staley being a young run blocker and Backus being a Lion.

It's utter bullshit if he wins DPOY, I'd be pissed if his name was within 3 spots of Darren Sharper.

And sacks alone don't tell the whole story, that's why they post those "QB hits" and "QB hurries" during games.

He's been having a great year, but he's making more plays than just sacking the QB, he's got some safeties and FF. But yea you make a point, of his 10.5 sacks, 7.5 come from the worst Left side in all of football, and thats the Packers Left tackles... I hope he doesn't have as bad of a year as Osi Umenyiora had in 2007, where he gets 7 sacks vs. the eagles(6 in 1 game) in 2 games and finishes with only 13 for the year... I say he should easily get the award if he gets 15+ sacks, cuz he's forcing a lot of double teams and disrupting a QB's.

You can make the same case for Darren Sharper though... I know he's been getting a lot of pick 6's, but the circumstances were terribly thrown passes and drops by receivers (Ted Ginn).

Either way I have Jared Allen, Patrick Willis and Sharper in the top 3 for DPOY

Very good points. If you're just talking about sacks alone, then yeah they haven't been as consistent but he still gets hurries, had some deflections, forced fumbles, safeties and i think he even has a touchdown.

Those are just the statistical things that he brings to the game. He plays great in the run-stopping game and gets double-teamed as well. Add those two factors to his stats and you start to get the picture.

Aside from that, let's look at the obvious... 7 1/2 sacks against one team in 2 meetings... that's not worthy of mention for DPOY? Are you kiddnig me?
