Well as everyone knows it is playoff time. I got an idea while going to work this morning.
Its been a while since our last big contest and it seems people are interested in having another so my idea is:
Have it like the playoffs are set up. We will start with brackets/match-ups depending on how many people join. The seeding will be determined by power rankings set by the judges. The panel of judges will be well known members on the site. It will be similar to NBA were top seed faces last and so on.
The contest will commence like the playoffs. Each player will make one mix on anything (to be discussed later) and no longer than 2 minutes or something (To be discussed as-well). There will be about one week between rounds. A mixer will win by the judges voting for the mix after each bracket. The winner will then move on to face the winner of another bracket. This will continue all the way to the finals were then each member could make a maybe 5 minute mix or something.
This would be a cool concept because you will be able to use differant styles of mixes in different rounds.
I think it will also be good because alot of mixes will be produced. It will also be cool because alot of mixers will start off not putting in alot of effort when facing lower seeds and then make better mixes later on which I think can result in some major upsets.
I want to see what other people think of this idea? I was thinking this could even be a yearly thing and have a champion every year. I think if enough people are interested and we PM some of the older mixers it could be a great contest.
Feedback??
